Unhappy
14 Jun 2014, 19:37
Because of my weight issues I have spent a lot of my life feeling that I am on the outside looking in. I saw the horizon programme and liked what I saw, then found this forum and last somewhere I belonged. Not the case, I am not a prolific poster, mostly because I feel like an outsider here as well. I have got to say I mostly feel ignored, not an unusual feeling for me. I may hang around for a little longer but I doubt I will join in as I don't feel wanted. Don't know what else to say to explain how I feel.

@Riel
Sorry you feel unwanted. I'm not sure which threads you read- but I am sure that it isn't the case. Everyone is pretty friendly on here. Try posting on Chatterbox Candy-just to remind everyone you are still here- since the forum change over lots of people seem to have gone missing@CandiceMarie and@Ballerinaare usually around as are several other regulars. The fasting today thread is another good place to post if you need a bit of moral support.

I think low self esteem can sometimes come with emotional eating. I sometimes find myself feeling a bit of an outsider but I think you have to have the confidence to believe in yourself. Do some of your weight issues stem from emotional eating? I found most people on this forum are friendly and accepting. I don't post much myself , I don't come on in the evenings very often either. Perhaps a talk with a counsellor might help. Remember you are worth it and you do need to push yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes.

Hi @riel

I am so sorry that you feel that way. You certainly are wanted! It's difficult to know what to advise as I'm not quite sure why you are feeling left out? Is it that you haven't found someone/a group with similar eating/fasting habits or problems weight-wise? Or perhaps you have not received as many replies to your posts than you hoped? It seems to me that there is a relatively small group of very frequent posters and a much bigger group of occasional posters. You are obviously in the latter group. But this does not mean that we are not ready and willing to offer support and advice.

Would you like to tell us a bit more about the problems you are experiencing with your fasting/weight loss and we'll certainly try to help!

I think it's easy to feel alone if you don't know others with the same issues. Maybe you need a buddy? I'm sure we can find someone or several someones who could offer you a more personal support.

So don't go...tell us a bit more and I'm sure we can sort things out.

Hi Riel,so sorry x
I understand the " outside looking in " feeling as i have it too, mainly stemming from belonging to a very unhappy family where there wasnt much closeness, affection etc. so i 've never had that feeling of a good family to fall back on.
Having health probs too leaves me feeling isolated.
On here i feel part of things, coz i post a lot,due to so often being stuck indoors.
However,I too DO feel left out at times here, when some comments i make don't get a response..but then this happens to everyone here at one time or another, and i know its nothing personal.
Funnily enough, when i see your name, i always look to see what youve said,as somewhere in the past you said something, i cant remember what now, that was interesting and warm and kind and thoughtful,so i felt an affinity with you.
Because of this affinity, i hope you stick around x x

I think most of us feel like this at some time in our lives. It really is a case of posting as much as you can and answering other people. Good advice, post on the chatterbox, or the low carb tent or any other tent.
It's a lot quieter round here since the changes, but most of us 'old timers' are still around.

I am grateful for your reply's. I suffer from pernicious anaemia that can cause depression. I have suffered from that in the past ( nothing to do with the illness). I think that may have something to do with why I am venting today, not that it is why I feel this way. To answer a few comments, yes I do eat emotionally, that's why I am fat , I have join various "tents" still feel ignored. Is there a cat lovers tent? :cat:

There's a WAGS Tent which covers all animals i think..
Maybe you could start a catlovers Tent? I'd visit, i love cats and kitties! X

I would start a tent for our feline friends if I could upload a piccy of my furry friend Drizst however on my iPad I don't seem to be able to. I don't think a tent called "wags" is a happy place for cats though

@riel you need to chat to @madcatlady...she has 11 (?) cats I think! And then @moogie appears to be trying to catch her up! I've always had cats but am between cats at the moment  .

It has been quieter here than usual too, so you may not be getting so many replies to your posts because there's not so many people around.

However, Moogie is going to email all our lost sheep to see how they're doing and remind them that we're waiting to hear from them. You see...we don't like it when people leave ;-)

I haven't been able to get a photo uploaded since the forum changeover Riel, very frustrating. Also, how do I tag someone on an iPad?
Re: Unhappy

@azureblue you should ask @minumonline for help..
She got me sorted out with photos but i prob can't explain it as well as she did
You know under the box we type in it says submit..well under that it says Upload Attachment, click on it and it will say Choose Existing ...so if you keep pics on yr ipad, you can choose one. The click Add File..
Since the change, sometimes it now says the pic is too big,but you can get a free app called
Pixlr which will resize yr pic and make it small enough to post on here.
The tag symbol works on my iPad, tho since the change, sometimes it's obscured by the yellow banner x if you then go to preview the tag symbol can be seen..sometimes just giving the banner a sharp whack makes it move out of the way x

Do you know, Riel, that to love a pet is a wonderful thing and that is why I started the wags tent. Cats, dogs hamsters, all things furry.
But you do seem awfully picky, if I might say so.
People don't always answer my comments. You need to build relationships, which can be done in cyberspace! You need to go out and share your life with others, and join in. I think much of your loneliness is of your own making. I have never intentionionly ignored or snubbed you.

My iPad is being truly unhelpful, won't let me install pixlr at all :0(
Which is the tag button please?
