Delighted or Disappointed?

... VERY disappointed!

Had a banana first thing and then went to the gym. As I ran my first 10km on Sunday, I do feel like my body is still recovering from that so I did my first serious session with weights rather than cardiovascular and by the time I got home it was noon so I had a portion of my home-made soup for lunch.

Only I still felt hungry.... and I ended up munching and munching all afternoon. On mainly low-cal stuff but the calories started adding up and I STILL felt hungry. I kept telling myself it was my body demanding after my long run on Sunday but in reality I just felt my resolve was weak. I then ended up having a large portion of chicken casserole with DUMPLINGS for my tea at 6.30.... and now I have indigestion and feel uncomfortably stuffed. Total calories over 2000 today :( My first real failure of control day since May and I hate myself. I'm scared that this is the start of the slippery slope. Ironically, since I hit target a fortnight ago, I'd actually lost another 3lbs and all my size 10 jeans are getting stupidly loose.....

Going to bed early to sulk with myself....
Now, now Domane. You've done brilliantly, so the odd day of slipping off the wagon isn't going to hurt - and at least you did it in style...DUMPLINGS!! How absolutely fantastic - you go girl! Seriously though, don't sulk for too long - you know it's not worth it. You've done amazingly so far and hit target, so don't be too harsh on yourself
Just put today behind you as a one-off and get back on your healthy eating tomorrow. There's no way one day's blow out could undo all your hard work so just put it into perspective and move forwards!
@domane - somewhere there are threads about shaking it up a bit by overeating occasionally! Yes overeating! i think @carorees is an advocate of this! So don't worry - it's only 1 slip!
Hi Domain  u've done a great job :like:
So wright today off completely and forget it now !!
Put it behind you and focus on what you've acchieved so far and as its your 1st blowout well i'd say its overdue.
Well done Good Luck :clover: and try again Sue
You did a 10K on Sunday and two days later, you're hungry. Makes sense to me. You've fed your body, it can get on with repairing itself.
Tomorrow is another day.
Yes, the occasional blow out seems to help shake things up...just don't let it become too frequent!
I hope you enjoyed the food. Don't feel guilty. Sometimes it's important to let go a bit. xx
**Hang on, I'm just putting my bossy boots on**
Now pull yourself together Domane. You've done fantastically well and reached your goal. One bad day (food wise) does not make a failure.
**taking boots off**
You're stuck with this WOL, if you like it or not, because you know how good it makes you feel. You know the odd day over your TDEE isn't going to make a difference to the bigger picture. And you said it yourself, It was your body/brain screaming "GIVE ME FOOD" after your 10k. That's all, no slippery slope.

I sure you'll feel better about it tomorrow. Just be ready for it after your next big run. Don't beat yourself up about it. If you're still losing weight after you reached goal maybe the odd day above TDEE isn't so bad. :)
Dee
Hi Domane stop sulking and enjoy what you ate. Dumplings - now I want some :like: . You may have been better having some protein this afternoon, but sometimes you need whatever hits the spot (I ended up eating a pack of 4 Cadburys Twirls one evening last week - and I, a former chocoholic, haven't had chocolate in weeks. Having done that I got back on track and I'm still going up and down the 55-56kgs scale).

If you're going to be doing longer/more runs you need to find out how your body handles it anyway.

This, as you know, is a way of life so just as you got used to 5:2ing you will get used to spoiling yourself now and again WITHOUT guilt - and without sabotaging all your good work. Anyway, don't you have 3lbs to play with that you didn't mean to lose?
i am borrowing Dee's bossy boots..

Your jeans are falling of,you've hit target ...ok youve had a bit of a binge and feel horrid, but you lost 3 lb more than you intended anyways! In a while you wont feel horrible and you ' ll still have falling off jeans etc...
If i were you, i would be turning cartwheels!
Thanks everyone! I don't like what the scales are saying this morning but I do know that I retain more water when I eat carbs.... I also know that I didn't eat enough excess calories to create even one pound of fat. I feel better today, I am wearing my size 8 jeans - which still fit (phew!) I think what scared me was that yesterday was the first day in all those months that I yielded and gave into temptation. I've been so strong all the way along until then. Today I KNOW I can stay sensible. I am stronger than yesterday!

(And I don't half ache from my first proper sessions with weights yesterday!!!)
... So you've discovered no harm done, if you have the occasional 'lapse' - but not too often as Caro says! So I would go easy on yourself, and cut yourself a little slack now and then - you do deserve it you know
Hey Domane!

I second everything already said on here, blimey you've done great!!
if that's any consolation, I ate a WHOLE packet of maltesers( and I don't mean the single packet, oh no ) 2 days ago, well, I left a few in there :-) but I still lost 2ls so there you go!! do not hate yourself hun, we are all human and not machines you can programme!!!

Go on girl, off you go and no more sulk, its forbidden :-)
I'm calling it the Autumn Feed as I did the same (but without the invigorating running and weights bit) last week.
Listen to your body, not your head, give it colourful real food without sugar, believe in yourself again.
All shall be well :0)
