Hi Cags,
Sorry to hear you're feeling down, sounds like you have some hormonal imbalance going on which will upset the fluid balance in your body too, so in actual fact you could be losing fat but its just not showing on the scales at the moment.

Regarding being embarrassed about talking to a male Dr, remember they've heard it all before & if it makes it easier pretend you're talking to your dog or best friend.Write down a list of what you want to say that way you won't forget anything, also it will give you something to concentrate on. Hope he gets things sorted for you :clover:

Cags - more hugs from another 5:2er - get outside in the light (even if it's not sunny) that may help you - just 15 mins outdoors, away from anything electrical!! Good luck with the GP tomorrow - you could always book an appointment with the female GP and then go and see her in June too. If, nearer the time you feel you don't need to then it's always easier to cancel the appointment than it is to make one when you feel you may like to see someone quickly - if you get my drift. Good luck, let us know how you get on

Thanks Ginty, I thought about writing it down but then wondered if he'd think if I can't remember it, it can't be that bad! I really hate going to the Dr's - I feel sick just thinking about it! I remember once though I just turned up at reception because a burn on my hand had got infected and he saw me right away - so he's not all bad - I must keep remembering that!

I've been putting up with my problems for so long because its difficult to know what's normal. I'm starting to realise that not everyone has a tummy ache every day, but because it's not bent over double stuff I've never really done anything about it.

I reckon I ought to take a break from the pill for a bit - if he doesn't do anything I think that's what I will do.

Thanks Suchard, just have to dry my hair and then I will go out with my dog; that's a good idea about making an appointment with female GP thanks :-)
xx

Hi Cags, sorry you're feeling down at the moment, sending hugs xx

I hope it all goes well with the GP. Take each day as it comes.

That is miserable Cags. It's hard to feel positive about trying to sort out diet/weight/exercise if you feel blue. Especially if you have a nagging worry about your health. It's good that you're getting checked out because you shouldn't have chronic (even if it is mild) tummy ache. Hopefully something simple will sort you out, and if it takes a bit longer, well, at least you're being seen by the GP and getting the ball rolling.
Chin up sweetheart.

Hi Cags
Good luck at Dr's. Hug from me too.

C25k is really good. I keep having a gap of weeks or months and having to go back a week or two of runs. I am back on to week three... Again!!!
It's great running with the dog... Especially when you have to stop and pick up lol!

I have written things down re depression for the doctor before, as when you get there your mind just sort of goes blank so I think it is a good idea for you to do that. Hope it goes well x

Hi Cags, given your BMI you probably don't need 5:2 for weight, but maybe we can help in other ways!

Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow :clover:

Hi Cags,
Sorry things aren't great right now - don't worry about it being a male GP as someone said they've seen & heard it all before. But do write things down - think of what you want to say & ask - it does help, as your mind can go blank, & doctors don't mind at all - I do it all the time
Good luck :clover:

Hope the appointment is positive. Sorry to hear 5:2 is not quite suiting you at the moment. Stick with it and hopefully as the summer hits and your mood lifts and your medical issues get resolved everything will start to come together. Sometimes when you feel down everything starts piling on top of you. Looks like you do have some loss and at your bmi maybe you need to accept slow progress until you reach your target? Even at my high bmi I am only losing 1.2lbs a week, I imagine at your bmi progress will be very slow. Virtual hugs your way
