My partner and I are going to start playing badminton next week. Anyone else do this and if so has it contributed to weight loss?

As well as booking the court I have booked an oxygen canister as it has been many years since I have played

I love badminton! But I usually only play in the garden during the summer with DS who is insanely competitive so it can be a bit mentally wearing as well as physically! I don't know that it helped with weightloss but I certainly found that this summer I was a lot better at getting around the 'court' (i.e., lawn) than last year when I was nearly 30kg heavier!!!

I love badminton too, but haven't played for a few years. As soon as I have my surgery I think I will grab my eldest, who is at about the same level as me, and book a court. The local school, 200 metres away, hires out its courts in the evenings and is extremely cheap. A lot less boring than weight lifting.

Thanks for reminding me about badminton.

Hi, I used to play regularly but have got out of the habit, which is a shame as I love it. I did find that I was finding it harder to get around the court due to some weight gain, so I'd like to try again now I've lost some weight and am doing lots of other exercise.

You certainly use a lot of energy, particularly in singles games!
