Great thread! We live in such diverse places. Jealous of all the squirrel sightings, miss them since I've moved to Australia. I have seen a lot of dead possums recently, which makes me sad. They're nocturnal, so the only ones I see during the day are dead. Although did see a mother with her baby on her back the other day, walking calmly down the road, mid arvo the other week. A quiet road, so didn't need to intervene to stop cars hitting her.

I've rescued lots of dogs over the years. Mostly they have a council tag, so a quick call to the council, and the owner can contact me directly to pick them up - avoids pound fees, and the council encourages it.

I'm still laughing at the cows Carieoates, that poor bloke probably has nightmares with cows chasing him!

I once saw a crow pick off a mejiro (a small green bird in Japan) from a tree by my house. A typhoon the previous year had left the trees all bare, or I imagine this would happen more often when the mejiro migrate through.

I get fantastic sea views on my runs, but I live on a small subtropical island, so sea views are inevitable. My forest run has loads of butterflies. I've also seen some fire-bellied newts, but they've all been dead :-(

I was running down a narrow bush track when I heard "excuse me", I moved over and was passed by a guy on a unicycle. Not a normal sight in these parts.

not out and about as such but I went out into my garden yesterday morning and was amazed at how many butterflies there were feeding on the dandelions (made me feel better about having weeds in my garden - must get the heads off at least before they seed though!)
