Since the one my mum will give has no handles, do I place it near a wall so that I can hold on to it?

Google 'power plate exercices' and look at the images, you'll get loads of examples. I seem to remember holding the poses for 30 secs maximum to start with and holding them for longer once I was fitter (up to 90 secs I think) and only doing a short workout to start with. You can do warm-up and cool down exercises though so you shouldn't ache afterwards, and you can do cellulite massages too!
Cellulite massages??? WOW!!! I like that!!!
Oh my days...after creating this thread I thought I would do a quick 10 minute session and owwwwwwwww my abs!! I must have only done (humiliatingly) 15 sit ups and I am in so much pain today! ! Every time I laugh/move/breathe it blummin kills!! Am I broken forever?
Nah, you just need to figure out how to do the cool down and massage on the power plate...I remember lying face down on the plate with my legs on a step the same height and the instructor using one of those huge gym balls on my back to massage my abs?! I remember that helping a lot...
Really pleased to find power plate questions on here. The PP is the only reason I pay my gym fees! I love it but after going s bit daft a few months, it brought on my arthritis bad. So, am gradually building up the time. My last gym had a snazzy PP with a poster with lots of exercises on but where I am now, it's pretty basic. Great for your core muscles I find.
