Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

I'm on the last stretch now.
Got it all sorted!!
2 stones lighter, so it's a big push to get back to my youthful body.
I think I have cracked the solution after 6 months of reading round the whole topic of weight loss, weight maintenance and optimum nutrition for my own health as an ageing granny.
You all know I do very low carb, along with 5:2.
I also do yoga and pilates.
But I am in heaven now, doing anaerobic workouts in the gym, listening to my full collection of Beatles music. Time spent in the gym, and much less in the kitchen -- why didn't I cotton on to that before?
As I pound away to their fantastic sounds, I can imagine my body returning to the size and health it was as a busy student in 1965 when I hadn't time to stop for excessive meals.
Well.....we are all entitled to dream..........
MAde me smile 140lbs. What would we aim for if we didn't have dreams, eh?
Have fun boogieing :)
140lbs is my goal weight. Sometime late next year or early 2015 I will get there.
I am hoping I may be at my goal by the turn of the year, as weight loss is slowing down considerably. The addition of anaerobic exercise is a new concept for me, as I didn't feel I could cope with it until now. I understand it is a good fat burner, so, fingers crossed.
I have introduced coconut oil recently for health benefits, and I wonder if the metabolism of it provides me with instant energy, much like carbs, at the expense of fat burning?
Any thoughts on this out there?
Arrhhhh 1965 + the Beatles :like: Thank you 140lbs for the memories and I was probably that weight around then never even thought of dieting those tight jeans + Mini skirts !!! And Julie that should be my goal weight :like: but have set it lower to see how I feel when I get there but were all getting closer to our own goals :clover: Sue
Well I was only 2 in 1965 so maybe not good to try and weigh the same. However I love the Beatles and have their whole collection. Maybe I should aim for 1980 the year I finished High school. Music wasn't quite as good though.
Well I was 10 in 1965 and I liked the Beatles too. However, I don't want to go back to my weight then as it was more than I am now! Still like the music though.
So, Annie, did you have weight problems as a youngster? I recall few overweight adults in 1965, and overweight youngsters then were the exception, with health problems generally being given as a reason. I don't think we had got into the junk food culture at that stage. I was so skinny right up to my early 20s, and must admit yearned to have a more rounded figure. Hard to imagine I was wanting more weight on!!! Those were the days.

You weigh less than when you were 10?

That's quite a turnaround!
140lbs, I have read that coconut oil works to keep you full, provided long lasting energy and helps diminish the waistline. I started using a several weeks ago and have found it to give me a nice burst of energy an I feel like my skin is softer as well without using lotion.
Does coconut oil get to the blood steam via the skin? As I slap it all over and put it on my hair, but haven't yet got around to cooking with it.
Julie, I only eat it, and never put it on my hair or skin, but the skin on my summer legs has become soft and hydrated like never before. I also think my insides feel all soft and calm too, and the main changes to my diet this year have been removing junk food and eating all forms of coconut. I don't cook much with the oil, I just eat it out of the jar, such bad manners, or spoon it in my coffee and cocoa. Lovely......
gonna have to get me some of this coconur oil. where do you buy it?? is it just in the supermarket or do you have to go to a health food shop?

ha, Im an 80s girl & love nothing better than a bit of tears for fears, wham or whatever compilation I can find :)
In the 60s I was 126 pounds dont want to be that slim again its ok when you are young but at my age 162 pounds is fine with me :)
When I was 10 I was 160cm tall and weighed 127lbs, I was never the dainty one! I'm 162cm tall now and this morning weighed in at 123lbs. I'm looking to lose another 1 or 2 lbs and then will try to maintain with a margin of 3 or 4lbs to play with.

Over the years my weight has been up, 147lbs at my heaviest, and down but never lower than 126lbs - until now. Running and some strength training has helped give me a better shape than the barrel of my younger self!
