Just back from a curry and a couple of glasses of wine with a really good girl-friend - well up for a 36er liquid fast tomorrow (Thursday)... I'm going to need it to make up for tonight  It'll be the second 36liquid only fast this week - Monday went well - so am hoping for some good results when I get on those scales on Saturday morning. :clover:
Well into my second fast of the week. 6:30pm, and I'm on the peckish side but that's all. Only a couple of hours until I head to bed (yes, 8:30 - stupid Queensland doesn't have daylight savings, so if you're like me and wake up when it gets light - before 5am at the moment, will be closer to 4am in middle of summer - it means you need to go to bed well before 9 to get a decent sleep.)
Hey guys - quick question - did my second liquid fast this week and felt really rotten by last night- kind of otherworldly and floaty. Today I just feel knackered and sleepy ( haven't slept well). Has anyone else gone through this and is it just a phase? I think yesterday was only my 5th liquid fast ( had gradually gone from normal 500 fasting).
Yes today I'm doing my second 36 hour liquid only fast of the week. Felt great after doing it for the first time on Tuesday & found my appetite has reduced massively of late. Scales tell me that I've finally jumped of my plateau too. This week I think I've found what's right for me for my weight loss - definitely liquid fasts, also I've cut out milk from my diet the last two weeks (always felt bloated after even the smallest drop in tea/coffee etc) and have replaced sugar with organic virgin coconut oil in my black coffee. Delicious! So far so good ................

Hi! I'm not sure if this will help or not - but did you drink enough fluids on your liquid fast day? I know that May sound daft, but lack of fluids can cause your blood pressure to drop (quite a lot!) when I felt a bit dizzy/floaty I just drank another pint of water & laid down for 5 mins to see if that helped (this will help your BP to rise again) and it seemed to do the trick, but I continued to sip water constantly. But, bedtime.....I felt very cold and found it took me ages to go off to sleep as my belly was rumbling so much. Woke up the next day feeling really good and no hunger pangs at all.
welshsupergirl you could be right- I start off with 4 cups of coffee on the morning of a liquid fast but I soon get really sick of going to the toilet so decrease fluid intake- I will try more fluid Moonday. Goodluck to all the rest of you on your journey this week - hope it goes easier than it did for me
Hi jmousey - when I first started out on liquid fasts, certainly the following morning I felt a bit woosy and lightheaded - but that was only once or twice. I do often feel very cold and tired towards the end of a liquid fasting day - but that seems to be normal with a lot of people saying they feel that way. Hope you perk up soon
Hi jmousey. I never felt light headed, but I think if I did, I would have a bit of milk in tea or a pinch of himalayan/celtic salt in water to help. Sometimes I get a bit "watered out" on liquid fast days, and need not food, but a smidge something - and both of those get me right again. Doesn't happen a lot though.
I do also get FREEZING cold on fast days. Even today, a lovely 28 degrees, and I was cold until about midday. I never have liked the cold, and obviously my body produces a lot of heat digesting food.
Got on the scales this morning (as I do every day) .... horrified at the effects of a curry and 2 glasses of red wine that I had last night (but boy was it good) .... today's got to make up for that and more... could have ruined the effect of Monday's 36er too.... Saturday's weigh in will reveal all I'm sure. Hey ho.... onwards we go.... fades off into the distance chanting: There's nothing wrong with the situation, just my attitude towards it, there's nothing wrong with the situation.....
