I'm in today, feeling easy so far, but very cold! Had a lot of hair chopped off last night and was hoping it was at least a lbs worth! Unfortunately not the case and my weight is only crawling downwards! Not too fussed though as have got rid of the bulk of weight! New bra yesterday is making me look and feel so much better too! Happy fasting all :0)

CandiceMarie, yes, that's pretty much it. I find it easier to just not eat at all until breakfast - eating seems to trigger my hunger.

Thanks for yr reply Kat and i see why you do what you do..i too find once i start my 500 cal dinner, i often want more,so it wd be easier to wait til next morning in some ways....
but is the " normal " fast ( i,e., from dinner say sunday night then nothing but 500 cals til tuesday morning) also a 36 hour fast in that it still involves very restricted calories over two nights?

I keep getting confused over this point! X
Well it all depends on how you define fasting. Is it restricted calories? In which case, yes, 5:2 with 25% of daily intake is fasting,? Or is it no food, only water? In which case standard 5:2 with restricted calories isn't fasting, it's calorie restricting. Is it nothing past your lips? In which case, liquid fasting isn't true fasting either.

I try not to get bogged down in labels, and just do what works for me: which is 36 hours twice a week of no food, only liquid (and mostly water or herbal tea, though occasionally I'll have milk in a tea).
Youre right Kat..getting bogged down doesnt help, just working out what works best for us..
Am thinking of giving it a go as tonight i really wanted to go on eating after my small dindins
Also, after reading all the 36 hour stuff that jmousey bumped i feel like its a possibility to at least try it out
Not sure i wd sleep but if not i guess thats ok coz i could get up and eat if necessary ! :0)
Almost done with liquid fast for today. Having Rooibos tea with stevia right now. It is funny how a liquid fast makes the apples I have look like a decadent forbidden treat, LOL. Can't wait til tomorrow am to polish one off!!!
Woken up feeling great this morning. Best nights sleep for days. And recorded a small loss on last weeks weight. Will break my fast at Bodeans for lunch with eldest - haven't seen him for a couple of weeks, so its a real treat.

Good luck to today's faster - hang in there Doey.
I have just managed my first 36 hour fast, had a new foster dog to distract me so that helped! Managed with just tea (with milk, can't live without it!) and water. Very chuffed with myself :like:
Well done Debs !
Well done Debs. I will warn you however that if you get into liquid fasting you can't go back to 500 cal fasting. A wee while ago my husband accused me of being really grumpy (pots and kettles!) and blamed it on liquid fasting. So to keep him happy I went back to 500 cals at dinner time and I just couldn't stop eating after dinner. Liquid fasts are so much easier!
Well I didn't liquid fast on Monday but am definitely tomorrow! It's approaching the TOTM and have already had two packets of mini cheddars and some chocolate  will stick to my tea and water tomorrow otherwise will be gaining this week! Haven't had the munchies like this before the TOTM for ages so hopefully a one off!
I'm in today. It's exactly a week until I go on holiday. This is my third fast this week, but my first liquid one despite intentions otherwise :)

Hope everyone else stays on track and has a good day :)
Me too, although its rather taking over as I'm trialing an ADF week as its a quiet week for me, so the periods of actually eating are limited. Consoling myself with a 'bulletproof' coffee right now. Feels luxurious......
I'm fasting today, well done debs on your first liquid fast, I know I can't go back to 500 cal meals now, so much easier to just go without! When I first started liquid fasting I found sleeping tricky, but it soon passed and now I sleep better on fast days!
Mid arvo and I'm feeling hungry. Horrible wind here today - not cold, just so windy.
