How is everyone going. Nearly sleepy time here. I've had a successful fast ending with beef and veggie Stirfry and fruit and yoghurt for dessert. Now to torture myself with a read of my favourite cooking magazine before lights out.

Good night, @Wineoclock. I ended up resisting the sticky date pudding and made do with a cup of tea and a single anzac biscuit. But I did have a piece of toast to soak up the veggie and chicken juices. Roll on breakfast. I know you say you don't miss it, @nursebean, but I'm just not ready to give it up. I think I had a successful fast today, and I'm done with February fasts now too. 16 fasts all up this year.

I'm in. Nothing but coffee, herbal tea and water until dinner, which will be our usual. We have a thai place nearby that makes a pretty low calorie basil chili chicken with lots of broccoli, onion, bell pepper and basil leaves in a very light broth. It's delicious and so much easier than trying to cook with an angry hungry tummy!

Fasting today here too! I'm hoping I can stay strong as my night last night and morning this morning were a mess! We got a call at 10:30PM from the husband's elderly cousin that she had a broken pipe and water was gushing out on to her porch and threatening to come into her kitchen. Luckily, we are only 5 minutes away and he was able to get there and turn off the water. A plumber will come today. Then, my alarm did not go off. My cat woke me up, but about 1/2 hr later than I like to get up on boot camp day. Scurried around and went to boot camp to find out that it was cardio boxing day and I did not have my boxing gloves with me. They always send a text, plus an email when we're to bring our gloves and they did neither. :frown: I refuse to use the communal gloves that they have there so I left in a huff and went home for another cup of coffee! :curse:

I'm going to need extra strength to get thru my fast today!

Hope you all had a more peaceful start to your Thursday!

I'm in today - was doubtful because I struggled after fasting on Sunday and Tuesday. But with the thought of spending the weekend in Rome today's fast just had to happen! So no breakfast for me - easier to wait before starting to eat, and then a Subway salad for lunch AND dinner. I have also got to take in fish and chips for the other half - how strong am I ??

I'm in today. Not been too bad other than feeling freezing cold! Had two coffees with milk no sugar earlier on and a small handful of almonds. The test as always is when making the kids' dinner though...

My fast day was derailed by my husband cooking dinner and afters for only the 3rd time in our 25 year marriage. After eating every morsel I calculated my day at a smidge under TDEE.

I guess I'll be having a Friday fast day

I didn't feel like fasting this morning, so I gave myself permission not to. But then I got caught up in stuff after having my coffee and here is it 1:19 and I haven't had anything to eat. So I'm thinking hmmmm. Not sure how it will play out. OH sounds like he wants a nice dinner. Maybe I'll just eat a nice dinner.

Well @Sallyo and @Nursebean I did end up having lunch mid afternoon. I had done the housecleaning and then the lawn mowing, which is heavy work where I live, and I felt hungry. I was fine with that. :)
Dinner was the problem. I chose fish and veg, which was lovely but not satisfying (not much veg needless to say) so ended up finishing my friend's pizza.... And I couldn't go to Brunetti's without having a cake... Which was very filling but, unlike many of you, I have not learnt not to finish my plate when I feel full... But, oh well, I enjoyed it all. :D
I had thought about going without breakfast today, but by mid morning was hungry. (Last year I did go for a long time not having breakfast, but when I started suffering from feeling hungry all the time, carorees suggested I reintroduce breakfast, and that helped a lot. I really do not like feeling hungry. Even tho 5:2 has helped me learn that I can live with hunger, I prefer not to except on a fast day.)
I hope others did manage a successful fast! :D
