Fast Thursday February 26th
25 Feb 2015, 19:53
Well I need to commit to a day of lower calories. Tuesday didn't happen. Day off today, so this makes it easy for me. I'll cook some healthy, low cal food and freeze some for future days. Good luck anyone joining me.

Just to say hello to you both and wish you well - I fasted on Wednesday tho' it does, of course, extend into Thursday until I eat breakfast.

:clover: to those of you who fast on Thursdays.

Good morning,
I'm in.

Did OK on Monday but I had a peach and a few almonds in the afternoon as I felt hungry.

Heading out to the shops this morning, and then to visit some of our friends in the afternoon for coffee. That should keep me away from the kitchen for the day. Beef stir fry for the evening meal tonight.

Happy Fasting everybody
cheers Maggie

Good morning fellow Australians! I'm in today. I nearly fasted yesterday because although I had had breakfast I was too busy at work to eat lunch so I considered calling it a fast and eating a light dinner. But then my cousins were visiting and they cooked dinner, with pudding and entree and we all had a lot to drink which was fun. So here it is, today. Black coffee under my belt; a busy day ahead.

Hi everyone! :)
I am still deciding what to do. I ended up with a fast day yesterday by accident, though I did have a few more than the normal amount of cals with my evening meal.
Tonight I am meeting a friend for dinner at Brunetti's, so I know I will have a day's worth of cals at least in that meal!! So I am wondering if I can fast until dinner time, but not having eaten much yesterday, that is a bit of a challenge. :(
And my weight management strategy at the moment is supposed to be not exceeding my TDEE on any day, and not necessarily having any fast days.
So prior to yesterday I had had 5 non-fast days, though I did have trouble sticking to the TDEE. Didn't binge, but still went over. But on average I was also doing more exercise/activity than normal. I wasn't able to weigh myself on those days so won't know until later today what the result was - I am hopeless at judging without the scales (although I am very well aware of the vagaries of that form of measurement too...)
Best wishes and good luck to all fasting today. :clover: :D

I'm in.

It's 1pm in Perth and so far I've just had tea and water. I've decided the best way to stay strictly to my 500 calories is to decide on what I am eating the day before. So today will be:

1.30pm Lunch 1: A small salad with fresh chilli and lemon (31 calories)
3.00pm Lunch 2: A half serve of vegetable soup (102 calories)
6.00pm: A small apple (43 calories) - on the way home from work
7.30pm: A diced turnip (29 calories) - while cooking dinner
8.00pm: Tofu scramble on one slice of kamut toast (203 calories)
9.00pm: A small jelly cup (20 calories)
10.00pm: 1 small fig (32 calories) and 5 almonds (36 calories)
Total - 497 calories

What are you eating today?

I'm in today, too. I've made it to 3pm, so I should be ok. Having said that, I've turned into a grazer on fast days. I try to stay within 500 cals (and rarely go over, and definitely don't go over by much). It often leads me to be hungry at bedtime, but it makes the day a lot easier (and increases my concentration at work).

I'm doing ok. I had that funny taste in my mouth today, which may signal that I am burning fat! I hope so. I did have a busy day. @Cyclonet, I had black coffee and about 3 cups of black tea. Now I am cooking up a mix of onion, zucchini, eggplant and tomato in which I will cook some skinless chicken thighs and a rasher of bacon. Plus a lettuce and cucumber salad, with oil and vinegar dressings. All veggies out of the garden. I think I will have enough calories left over to have a tiny, weeny portion of last night's left over sticky date pudding, but it will have to be a VERY SMALL portion. I can do it. I don't know how many calories that will come to but I've stopped being so exact. I used to be that exact and count every calorie but now I am a lot more laid back - I started in April '13. Hope you are all managing. @Sassy1, I do Fast or Don't Fast. Otherwise it's a diet! I don't like that.

I'm in today, I did my last fast on Sunday rather than Monday so it feels ages and I feel I need it today.
Good luck fellow fasters

Good to see a few of you are in today. I guess a lot of you are doing 5:2 (Mondays and Thursdays?) When I think of it, this thread would be heaving by now, a few month's ago. Where is everybody? Oh yes, they all made it to goal!
Well, I'm in today as I am every other day. I won't be eating until 6 ish this evening. I'm taking my dad to the airport this afternoon so he can catch his flight to Canada! He's visiting my sister and her boys. Mum and I are going to miss him and I'm especially going to miss his help in my shop. Who's going to pack my items now?!
And @Sassy1? I'm sure you can wait until lunch time. I do that every day. Breakfast is no longer an option  Actually, cutting out breakfast was much easier than I thought. When I ate breakfasts on holiday I felt positively bloated (er, no, negatively bloated...it wasn't pleasant!)
Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Good luck everyone who is fasting today. I look forward to hearing how you're getting on during the day.
Bye for now
Bean

I'm joining you today. I'm having my 500 cals at lunchtime as I have a meeting this evening (yes again!) which will keep me busy.
Lunch is freshly made soup and salad. Yummy. I'll pop by later. Wishing you all a happy fast day. :clover:
