My 2nd fast day today too this week.
So far I've had 1 black coffee and 3 cups sparkling water.
I have carrot x coriander soup if I need it at 1pm for 85 cals then have egg fried noodles planned tonight with light soy x green beans for 90 cals. (Zero noodles)
So probably 200 calories today, mayb a little more if I need a yog before bed.
Not hungry at moment which is good but keeping busy.
I#m in for my third fast this week. The scales showed 8st 5lbs this morning - only 5 lbs off my goal. 3lbs til I'm actually happy though. If I could get the 3lbs down before hols I would be sooooo happy. Feel so motivated to see the scales moving like that. Just to advise - I'm only eating carbs when I run - other than that I don't eat them and that seems to work for me. So today its coffee and a berrocca until about 4:30pm and then dinner which will be a wrap with salad and chicken tikka or something. I might have a bovril or something if I get really hungry.
PS I also sleep badly on fasting and it is definitely to do with hunger. However, I find that if I drink a hot choc or anything late at night, I don't see the results on the scales which demotivates me. Instead I eat two boiled sweets which gives me sugar til I fall asleep without the bloating and water retention of hot choc
Mons wrote: This is my second fast day this week. 3 weeks in very slow weight loss but hanging in for long term benefits. Can I ask anyone's advice on what I plan to eat today.
Bfast Soya yoghurt 87 cals Slice of melon approx. 60 cals
Lunch Slimasoup 56 cals
Dinner Prawn Cocktail (low cal mayo) with salad approx. 212 cals
I may have an apple or handful of grapes if hungry later tonight.
As my weightloss has been slow worried my fast days aren't right.
Any advice?
Mons
Hi @Mons and welcome to the forum!
Well done for starting on this new way of life...I'm sure you won't regret it!
I would say that 3 weeks is a very short time to know whether your weightloss is going to be slow long-term, so don't worry about that...give it 6-10 weeks before deciding whether the diet is working for you.
Re your fast day food, for many people, the fast days (and possibly the weightloss too) go better if you concentrate all your calories into one evening meal, so you might like to consider starting by dropping one of your meals...most people find breakfast the easiest to skip but if you are a morning person, maybe lunch is better. Then you can progress to skipping both. Having longer gaps between eating, seems to be better (including on feast days). Second, I would say you would do better to drop all the fruit (contains lots of sugar) and replace with vegetables. The sugar in the fruit will tend to make you more hungry and may also prevent insulin levels from falling and so impede your weightloss. That is not to say that you would suddenly see a big boost in weightloss if you made those changes, but you might see an improvement and would likely find fast days easier to cope with.
Hope this helps
Had a busy day and didnt eat till dinner.
Had baked steak and veggies, yum.
Wonder what the scales will say on sunday when i weigh in.
Take care all!
Last fast of this week and then next week I'll go back to Monday and Wednesday. I love the flexibility but the other days work better for me.
Tuesday and Thursday just doesn't feel naturally for me to fast.
Anyway Good luck everyone.
Fasting today as well, vege and salmon for dinner, still not decided on how I'll fix the veg but I still have hours and hours and hours to come up with something. lol
