Fasting today?

Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.
Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.

Hi all,
I'm fasting today and doing OK so far!
I started two years ago, did pretty well for quite a while, then stopped for a while and weight has crept back on. Bit of a wobbly restart (restarted the week before last which seemed to go well, I even found that cycling to work was OK while fasting, then last week I just couldn't make it work) but busy at work today which is helping and I always find warm weather makes it easier. Hoping to make better use of the forum for support this time and see if it helps, I look forward to getting to know you all better.
Good luck to everyone else that's fasting today; if you're in the UK there's not too long now 'til tomorrow!
I'm in today, got my black coffee (just after 9am here)...
Gosh, that was a long busy day. I'm finally at home and my dinner (two spring rolls and cauliflower mash) is baking in the oven. Thinking about tomorrow's menu :)
I'm fasting today. My first fast!!
Wish me luck! I'm halfway through my day and not bad so far. Have a bit of a headache but I'm hoping it will fade...
Hi, I'm new. This is my first time fasting since I was in my 30's. I'm now 60 and obese. I thought I would give this a try after watching Michael's video for the first time a week or two ago. I am healthy for the shape I'm in, but it won't last and this seemed like a good idea. I know I will need support, so I'm posting. Today is my first fast. I had planned to do a protein drink with veggies and yogurt and fruit for my meal later. However I read an article on here that it was a bad idea. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
I'm glad the forum is here and the web site. It's much appreciated. I do plan a walk today as well.
After 5 days with family in Lancs this fast is very welcome. I had miso soup at 5pm and egg salad at 7.30pm. It's 9pm - hot water with lemon for the rest of the evening, nearly done and feeling great. Good luck to those of you still fasting :clover:
Here I am, to close out the Monday fasting thread; it's almost midnight here in western U.S. I think I've found that having (significant) sugar the day before a fast leads to feeling hungrier on the fast day. Sunday we went to my sister's for my son's birthday dinner, and he's got quite the sweet tooth, so we had both lime pie and lemon cake (!). Not that I regret eating it; I made the former, and the latter is from Just Desserts, with cream cheese frosting and covered in white chocolate curls... the key is, if you're gonna sin, do it right, and consciously! Successful light day, even though it was a bit more challenging than usual. Boy, that afternoon "snack" (peaches and yogurt) tasted great today!
Welcome,@Carrie19 and @linjin. I hope that your fasts went well and that you are feeling pleased with yourselves. If not, then there's always another fast around the corner! There is plenty of good advice on the forums regarding headaches - usually it's down to insufficient water, cutting back on caffeine too much or lack of salt (drink a stock or bouillon cube but watch the calories - some can be quite high).

Don't forget to introduce yourself on the 'Introduce Yourself' thread and then you can be sure of a very warm welcome from more of us! Posts in the 'Fasting Today' Threads often don't generate many responses - probably because we're all in our own 'Fast Day bubble' with heads down and going for it!

Good luck with your adoption of this WOL. It may not be the fastest method of weight loss but it surely is the easiest and I can testify to that!
Hehe! Signing in very late for Monday..i made it..sort of..700 ish cals..
Must do better next time but quite pleased with that after a rather indulgent snacky weekend at DDs ( her homemade scones ..some wine..some cake..a curlywurly or two!) x
