I hope I am in. I always do Mondays but I had a call from a friend who needed a sympathetic ear over lunch today. I kept it to soup and 2 oatcakes so if I manage on 250 Cals for dinner tonight I will be O.K. Wishing all you Monday fasters a good one.
I'm fasting as usual today. Spent most of the morning trying to upload photos to this forum - well it passed the time. Then I've been to aqua aerobics for the 1st time since the garden demanded all my spare time around about April/May . Going to aqua is now my excuse for not having to go out in the cold and sort out the garden!
This is my first post. I started this diet on Sept. 24, 2013. I live in Arizona and I have lost 20 pounds since that day. I also fast on Mondays and then again on Thursday. However, on my fast days I don't eat anything. Anyone else doing this?
Monday is a usual fast day for me, but as I had a training day at work with very nice lunch, decided instead to eat only 500 cals between 1.30pm today, until dinner tomorrow evening, at 6.30pm. It's probably not as good as the 2 sleeps routine, but I thought I'd give it a go:) So I am now on a fast, but will have an poached egg with some lean bacon this evening before going to bed, and maybe half a banana as well.

Another fast under my belt. Just had salmon and a huge plate of stir fry veg....happy tum :)
Fast today! :) and every Monday for a long time!!! Stretched out into future years....

So glad to be in such great company :)

:clover: everyone!
I've made it through the day! I reached target in early July, maintained until end of September and then didn't fast (or really think about what I was eating) until last week. Guess what happened? Yes I regained nine pounds! However, I am dealing with it and my last week's fasts, not counting today, have removed five of them, so four more pounds to go until I am back to target.

Q:Do I feel ashamed of myself?
A No, not really. Pleased that I have got back on track (unlike other previous dieting efforts)

Q:Have I learned anything from it?
A:Yes. I must weigh every week, whatever the circumstances, and take immediate action if the weight is going back on.

Q:Any advice to others?
A:Yes, don't become complacent, once you have reached target. If you have been a yo-yo dieter, as I have for years, then 5:2 isn't magic. You must remain vigilant!

Congratulations to all of you have successfully fasted today and, if you didn't do as well as you would have liked, then tomorrow is another day and you can fix it! :victory:
I love your attitude @StowgateResident. Very well done on getting back to it before it got out of control. 5lbs down and only another 4lb to be back to where you were. I love your comment about immediate action, I'll remember that one for WHEN I get to goal. Happy fasting :)

Hi @angie007az and welcome to the forum. You've done amazingly well. I started 5:2 a week or so before you and I don't think I would still be doing it without the guys on this forum. It's a great place for help and support. Have a good look around and put your stat into the tracker. You don't have to make it public but it's great for motivation. Lot's of people do a full fast (no cals) but I can't say I'm one of them. Post a thread on the introduce yourself section so people know your here. Good luck as you continue. :clover:
