I'm in to fast today after a quite decadent weekend away in which I had lots of lovely wine and food
(details I will not mention as I dislike when people talk about that on fast day!)

Sadly, my Monday morning scale is now up 1.8 lbs from last Monday so time for some fasting. This week will be Mon, Wednesday, and my 1/2 Friday (which involves a <1000 calories, but get a couple treats Friday eve).

I really need my Monday fast this week. Feels like I've been eating non-stop since yesterday lunch. Not sure why but I feel like a bottomless pit!

@nznicole Thanks for leading the charge today. I'm in for a modified fast, still struggling with illness - it feels like it'll never go away! Having a quiet day, catching up on emails and gentle sewing. Eating my first cucumber for part of dinner tonight. Have a good fast everyone.

Thanks Nicole. I'll be joining when morning arrives. It's been pretty chilly this last week so the plan is to make a veggie soup tomorrow evening and freeze for the next few fasts. Take it easy Sallyo!

I'm in today for a very necessary fast, can't seem to stop eating at the moment except on Mondays!

I'm in too for maintenance fast of 1000 cals. Got sidetracked by an awful photo, where I looked like my grandFATHER when he was 80! Thought I'd got a bit gaunt, however it is very easy to stack the kgs back on and really if I look old and gaunt who cares, so long as i'm healthy. Besides I hit the UK in 1.5 weeks and that will be a 2 week feasting party, so best lose a few grams b4 then. Good luck all. Get well soon Sallyo.
Need this Monday fast more than most,
Spent the weekend eating and drinking more than I would normally, but had a super smashing time with my sister.

Hi all, I'm in.
Had a strange week, my weight went up 900 gm by Friday and stayed up over the weekend. I only managed 1 fast day last week and it showed. Strangely though, today I was down 500 gm and I hadn't truly fasted since last Monday. I have a history of holding fluid in the warm, especially humid weather. That used to drive me crazy, it was depressing and demoralising because I had no way of fixing my issues or weight that was consistent and doable long term.

What I do know and it is a wonderful thing to know, is that 5:2 is the WOL that slowly changes past failures and confusion about what happens in our bodies and gives results that are undeniably real and healthy. :victory:

@Sallyo, hope your day turned out to be as peaceful as you planned. It sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. :)
I'm in today. Overrated this weekend! Really need a couple of good fasts this week. Now realise my body has changed and doesn't like being filled to the top! Cold day for us. Winter has arrived but snow on high ground only.......at the minute. X

Brr, @bofa45 that's a chilly start to the week, I saw that snow is forecast. Just very windy here.

We have to wrap presents and write cards today ready for our trip tomorrow :reindeer: , then family meal out tomorrow evening, big family meals at my parents' (plus Christmas nibbles!) on Weds, home on thurs.

I'm in. First fast of the week. I need to be more strict - I only really managed one fast day last week - the second started off well but went to pot by the evening and as I compounded the fault by picking at chocolate over the weekend I arrive this morning at 3kgs heavier than my lowest recorded weight of a couple of weeks ago so 64 and not 61 kg. This seems to happen to me periodically - so instead of getting despondent about it I just have to keep going, be stricter and it will disappear eventually. I have a recurring disc problem in my neck and weirdly I always gain a bit when it is bad. Like now. Hey ho.
