I'm fasting today but this is the first opportunity that I have had to spend time on the forum. I arrived back from my cruise to discover that, when I weighed on Saturday morning, I was nine pounds over my target weight of 147 pounds ie 156 pounds!
I fasted on Saturday and by Sunday morning (my 'official' weigh-in day), I was already down to 150 and a half pounds - a drop of five and a half pounds in one day! This morning I weighed and I had dropped another pound and a half, so now 149 pounds.
I am hopeful of losing the last two pounds by next weekend as I really don't want to start the Christmas 'eatathon' over my target! :curse:
Good luck to those still fasting and well done to all our Australian colleagues who have made it through another fast. Onwards and downwards!
Hi Everyone!
I'm in today. So far so good, some sashimi for lunch along with lots of bubbly water and coffee. I am thinking of a nice soup for dinner and that's it! Feels good to get a solid fast in, even if the scales are not cooperating right now!
Good luck to all!
I have completed my first proper fast in months!
I will have to find some time to catch up on everything I've missed

I'm done for the day. Fingers crossed for a good weight in the morning. My tracker is creeping up. Still within my acceptable range, but like so many of us, I do get worried...
I'm in, too. It's 7 pm here and raining. Sallyo, your posts sound like a novel I'd love to read :-) I am also glad it's a fasting day. This is my 8th week - I'm down 10 pounds over the past three months, so this is a great way to do it!

@Karenm - well done to you!

@wendyjane At some point, I like to think maintenance will be such a habit that it will be unremarkably peaceful. :) But yes, I recognise the niggling ?? and vague sense of anxiety about an upward trend, even within our acceptable range. I still have the sense of waiting for a shoe to drop and the preposterous apprehension that one morning, I'll wake up and somehow be 20lbs heavier. Ludicrous, I know - but the absurd thought is there.

@TeaAngel Congratulations on such a good result. I'm pleased this has been such an effective method for you. :victory:
Hang in there you US and Canadians. Not long to go now, is there? As you will now know, the Sydney story ended badly with 3 deaths. We have learned that the gun man was a disturbed individual out on bail from being implicated in the murder of his wife and charged with multiple sexual assaults. It was not a terrorist attack. Still very hard for Sydney and we are lucky not more people were hurt. Keep warm up there.
I'm almost done here, almost 1am Tuesday. Been staying up late now I'm not employed, don't want to get into a bad habit. I successfully did the 3-day "soup detox" Tues/Wed/Thurs last week, scale showed down 2lbs, but I didn't put it on tracker 'cause I don't want to skew my 5:2 results. Skin continues to improve. Have applied for unemployment and waiting to hear. Had a bit of a cold so am avoiding dairy for now; makes it difficult with light day snacks, which usually involve yogurt. Forgot to make my hardboiled eggs for today; will need to make a pot on Wednesday for Thursday's fast. Currently have about 150 cals left to play with...

Sorry to hear about the trouble in Sydney. My son and I were watching our local news tonight, and it seemed every other story was about someone getting ripped off; disheartening. Watching my fave Craig Ferguson now; am very sad this is his last week....

Yes, totally agree, @Ssure. On the one hand, I have felt - since March '13 - that this WOE was guaranteed to succeed. And it has. But the "niggle" (perfect description) still rears its little head, and I still get that guilty feeling sometimes after eating a brownie, when it's really OKAY.

I was right on track this morning, 1/2 pound above target. Am going to make a concerted effort to be unremarkably peaceful. About this one aspect of my life, at least!
