Good to see so many of you today. Hope those who are feeling a bit "meh" today are picking up now and the fast is going well.
I popped to M&S this morning and have stocked up on my fast meals. I think tonight I'll have some beef stir-fry with chilli and ginger noodles. I think chilli is supposed to boost your metabolism isn't it?
If we're really honest with ourselves. Do we feel hungry yet?!
In in and I've just had my teeny weeny fast day prawn salad for lunch.
Veg chilli and possibly cauliflower rice tonight. (First attempt) will let you know how it goes.
@nursebean I'm starving :starving:
I'm having my protein bar now which should dampen it down for a while....

I think the meh is down to no sleep ( my husbands alias is Tractor Tom as he snores like one !) and never ending work pressure , but being the sad old bird that I am as he only returned from the US on Saturday I couldn't bring myself to decamp to the spare room last night

I have a nice Innocent Veg pot waiting for me later .. I think I might be slightly addicted to the one with pearl barley in it !
Has anyone here been successful with a Spiraliser ???

I bought one from Amazon and the only thing I managed to spiralise was my knuckles so it went in the bin :-(

If anyone can recommend a good one I would really appreciate it .. as pasta is one of my favorite things ever ... but I rarely have it as I don't want to "spend" my calories on something where you do get much bang for your buck ...
Wow lots of people fasting today :like:
Im in for a much needed fast. Good luck everyone
Oh @Redrobin how funny! I came across an advert for one of those spiralisers and couldn't think what it was called. Oh, so not very good then? Apparently sales have sky-rocketed as well as sales of carrots and courgettes! We're all crazy aren't we!
I look forward to seeing if anyone else has used one.
Hi, I am in, too. I already had two apples = 150cals
So now I am left with 300cals for tonight and I am unusually hungry for this time of day. So I am thinking of maybe not eating and to get beyond hungry. Beyond hungry is what you feel the morning after a very good fast, empty but not hungry any more.

I sometimes feel that if my fasts are too easy during the day, I get a sudden evening hunger and as I am by then at home and very close to a fridge and food in general, I weaken. That way a perfectly good fast can be spoilt.
Does anyone else get that?
I'm in for today! Praying this Monday goes way better than the last.
I'm in. Noonish here and I can't tell if I'm hungry or just having an unsettled tummy today. I think I'll have a cup of bouillon and see what happens. I have some beef stew for supper tonight. Looking forward to it. :clover:

Hi @Ieramul..i'm similar to you ..even if ive had an easy fast all day, once i eat in the evening, that's it, i just want to draw a chair up to the fridge and snack all evening.i don't tho,coz i can't bear to ruin a fast day after practically getting to the end of it,but it makes for a difficult few hours, and I sometimes go a 100 or so cals over 500 .
I agree with you that " beyond hunger" is how i feel the morning after a fast.x
In for my normal Monday fast. I "only" have 4 hours until I can eat something! :-( I had a terrible 3 day weekend of eating with abandon, so I'm suffering a bit today. I'm rather like a dog chasing it's tail as I lose during the week and put it back on over the weekend. I really need to get a handle on the situation. I'm striving to get the sugar monkey off my back as I ate chocolate and desserts over the past 3 days.

Hope you're all having a good fast day!
Hi so today is my 3rd fasting day and to be honest im struggling with it today..... am drinking alot of water in hope to quench the feeling of being hungry till dinner time.
If anyone has any tips id be grateful.... this is all new to me. :?:

Hi @AngieAustin - welcome to the forums!

I have to say, some days fasts are just harder than other days. I read a study summary one time that said reducing your protein intake in the meal before a fast reduces hunger. Last night I had about half of the protein I usually have at dinner, and I am finding today is easier -- but I had planned ahead and I ate more protein than usual at breakfast and lunch, so I still got my daily allowance in.

When I'm having a rough fast day, warm beverages help me a lot. I have lots of coffee (reg and decaf), herbal tea and in the afternoon, when I'm really hungry, I have chicken bouillon/broth. Some people swear by miso soup. These are low enough calories that they shouldn't hurt a fast (about 10 calories per cup for most brands).
