I'm in. No breakfast or lunch but not sure how dinner will pan out. I've got an opera gig tonight. We have a sound check from 4 to 5.30 and then have to be back by 6.45. This will mean either La Porchetta (Italian, mostly pizza) or the pub. I'll have to eat something; maybe I can find a salad. But no beetroot as I'm wearing white!!!

ps Good luck, Sallyo!!
omg, so many people having exciting things to do today. @Chook, what's your role in the opera, do you sing?? And good luck with your talk tonight @SallyO, I bet the Greens have a lot more policies and ideas around that topic than anyone else! The australian public are so critical of female politicians' dress aren't they - pure sexism if you ask me!

Yes, I'm joining the fasting throng today - so many kiwis and aussies in early today! I'm just off for a bike ride, for my mental health as much as anything, heaps of other things I should be doing instead though!

Happy fasting today!
I'm definitely in! I'm ready for a really good fast and I'm hoping to see some numbers to begin shifting downwards. Homemade chicken broth for lunch and a chicken and vege stir fry for dinner.

Yes, I sing but only as a humble chorister. This is Opera in the Market with special guest star, Teddy Tahu Rhodes *swoon*. Really looking forward to it.

Have a good one everyone, I'll be joining you after a kip! :like:
Thanks Otter, I'll be joining you fasters in the morning. Off to bed zzzz :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy:
No sugar Katemac - Good on you, I tried that for about 3 weeks and as usual lost interest and gave up. I was trying to last till dinner tonight without snacking but got rather hungry. Filling up on water and tea wasn't doing it anymore, nor was keeping myself busy, to hot to work outside at the moment and am 1/2 way thru sorting my potted plants, I should really start getting rid of some of them. Had a whole 100gm of cherry tomatoes which is bugger all cals and now feeling better.
I'm in today for my usual Monday fast.
We've had a stream of visitors since mid December so it's been hard to fit two fasts in each week so far this year. I'm desperate to get back to normal as progress has been sloooowww! I'm going to try for tomorrow too, as my first consecutive day fast a few weeks ago was surprisingly easy.
Have a great Monday everyone! ;-)
I'm in for the usual Monday fast after 4 non-fast days in a row and a lot of over-indulgence last night... I don't know why I do it... (The overindulgence, not the fast!)

Very best wishes for tonight @Sallyo - enjoy the opportunity to show your talent and commitment. :)

@Chook, swoon for me too!! I did look into the details that you gave me previously about the Opera in the Market, but I decided that I have enough on at present and also prefer not to travel into the city (or perhaps I am just lazy...!). I am sure it will be fabulous, I do know of some people who are taking part. :)

Best wishes to all the fasters, especially the newbies! :D
Hey Chook! What's the opera? Or is it a recital of different famous pieces? Sounds exciting. I'd rather be doing that!
It's a mixture. James Morrison is performing as well, plus Opera Scholars Australia - up and coming young folk. The choir are sort of like a singing backdrop  Got to go, time to head off to the big smoke. At least we get our own parking in one of the market sheds.
I'm back from conference @ Disneyland & ready to fast in the morning. I managed two 800 cal fasts on my travel days, but probably made up for it the other days - Disney feeds you well...hard to pass up all the pretzels, croissants, muffins, pastas, you get the picture. Looking forward to getting back on track.
Happy fasting Monday everyone!
Good luck Sallyo & Chook, caught up on the thread after I posted.
Well I'm not happy. About to drive into an underground carpark at katoomba but stopped as it was a crossing and man was about to cross. A car behind the banged into my car. I drove in and could see it was a P plate young woman and she had a big dent in her car. I pulled onto a spot and waited for her to find a spot and come over but she disappeared! Because I was shook up I didn't get her license plate number. I searched the carpark but couldn't find the car. Luckily there wasn't too much damage mostly her silver paint scraped all over the lower corner of my
Blue car but the most annoying thing is I only recently got my car fixed when somebody backed into my driver door so badly at Bidwill that I needed to get the door replaced. Of course they didnt leave a note and I had to pay $650 excess. Ahhhhhhh! Feel bit better now. Thanks for reading my whinge.
Xxx julianna
How awful, fancy just driving off, I could never do that. Just had to get the daughters car fixed, luckily the other driver stopped and gave details or it would have been over $1000.00 excess.
Mind you it was Katoomba, there are some strange people up there
