Welcome Moo this is a great forum for support iv'e found it invaluable :like:
Iv'e had a really good fast today my daughter came round and i made us all a large salad and tortilla pizza a la The Hairy Dieters  it was delicious.
Still have enough cals for some fresh strawberries later, not bad for a bank holiday.
I've been fasting today although we travelled back from out weekend away in the North east this morning. Just had the Hairy Bikers Spanish chicken bake. Very yummy - at 370 cals a bit higher than I have been having for my main course recently. Still only at 420 cals with my morning milk and some extra veg - it is a holiday afer all.
A bit anxious that my fasting buddy clairemarie seems to have gone AWOL , I hope she is OK
I have fasted today too whilst travelling from south East UK home to France. Hours of driving with no sweets!
End in sight :) this is fourth week now and a certain routine to fast days in what to do and eat over over the day. Progress is modest and best indicator is shrinking waist measurement.

My allowance for the day does not go far when try to have a regular meal with other half who needs a big dinner!! I have homemade soup in single portions in freezer so that is middle of day meal. I am lucky to be able to chuck in good selection of fresh herbs from garden to a salad. I am getting very scrupulous about reading labels for calorie count = some surprises there. Being celiac, I am used to checking stuff.
Thanks for the welcome guys... its now 9.10 pm so I feel safe in saying I have made it through. Very pleased. Have been reminded, one needs to keep busy and therefore mind off food. Really pleased with myself as is a bank holiday. My goal is just to reset myself again. My weight is around 10 stone 3 so at 5 foot 8 I am not over weight now, but that said have put on about 4 pounds this year and not sure where its come from so I am back on it before it goes any higher. I have actually quite enjoyed my day and am glad to have found this site. I didn't have any support last time and sometimes I could have done with it. Not all fast days go this well eh.... have drunk a lot of tea and made an effort to drink water. Early-ish night may be a good plan too....I hope everyone else has had a good day and look forward to reading and learning lots here.... here's to Wednesday..... second fast
I didn't have a great day yesterday. I was much hungrier than usual. I probably over did the calories. And food didn't satisfy me. Hope for a better day on Thursday. Funny how some days are a breeze and others are difficult.
I was much hungrier than usual today, Probably the psychic impact of all those millions picnicking and barbecuing. Looking forward to a nice lunch with my daughter and her mate tomorrow which will be my holiday meal.

Around this time (7:00 PM) I start thinking about how I can eat whatever I want tomorrow, which gets me throughthe rest. But yes, I don't recall ever being this hungry on a fast day before.
Still only about 8pm here, but I just closed the kitchen, so ill have one more glass of water today & should be fine. One more down!
Welcome to @moo, the support on this forum is phenomenal, check in whenever it gets tough, there's always information & inspiration to be found...best of luck.
Fasting today; day off but decided I wanted to go ahead and fast, nothing special to do food-wise. Got up late, so that's 4 hours handled. Then running around with my son, so made it to 7:45pm without eating without much trouble. Had a nice dinner 241 cals, probably will have some yogurt and berries later on. Didn't show a loss last week, but had stellar results first two weeks, so have to get used to the peaks and valleys; this is a WOL, not a "diet."

Am trying to convince my friend he should try this; he's very nervous about the idea of not eating, has convinced himself he gets headaches. Tried to explain about glucose vs fat burning, but not sure I'm getting through. Did tell him to come to the forum and check it out, lots of different perspectives here. If anyone has a similar story, especially male (thinking you'll get sick if you don't eat), I'd appreciate hearing from you. Take care!
Confirmed first fast complete. Normal day today and best bit is have not woken up hungry , big surprise actually, so decided to wait until I do feel hungry before I break fast. Good luck to those who are fasting today, will check in tomorrow for wnother fasting day and to do some more reading. Have already picked up lots of useful tips. I decided to get on here and read on fast days and try mostly to think less of it on normal days, but see how it goes.
julianna wrote: I teared up when I read your post @carieoates. Its so nice to feel cared about from your friends across the world. This clot is not a DVT but more superficial. I am a varicose veiny person and I have a clotting disorder called anticardiprin antibodies ( it can affect pregnant women with multiple miscarriages or small birth weight babies and the preventative treatment is low dose aspirin). This clot is below the knee and hard and painful but the ultrasound showed I had a partial blockage in the vein in my upper thigh and my doc said this was the one that is a worry as its close to the main vein. The injection is clexane and the only reason I have to do it twice is so it was on the pbs and reduced cost. I apologize for this on your fasting thread but I think I may have contributed to putting you all off your food
Xxx julianna

@julianna, I had meant to get on here to send my best wishes earlier, but it's been another busy few days >.<;;
Sorry to hear about your clot, but relieved to know it's not a DVT and that you're having heparin to deal with it. Do you inject yourself? I never could, those ones sting like you wouldn't believe it don't they?!
Have you had clots before or you're just prone to them? Do take it a bit easy if you can, I'd suggest staying off work and resting so your body can focus on breaking it down. I trust as you say it's not as bad as a DVT that there's no big risk of an embolism? Do take care my dear. Rest up if you can, but remember to keep your legs moving regularly and not stay sitting for prolonged periods! Lie down if you feel your heart racing a bit, that helps to ease its job. Keep us informed of how you're getting on and feel free to message if you want a chat. I hope it all resolves quickly, these things are no fun and the thinners can make you feel so rubbish (cold, tired, fuddled). xxx
