How are you going @Sallyo, will you make it to dinner time?
I've just assembled my Vegetarian moussaka to cook in about an hour, and I've made a salad to go with it. Its sparkling water until then.
I am on my second black coffee, 3 cups of tea this morning. Didn't feel hungry until early afternoon, but sure do now! It will be assorted salad leftovers for my dinner, but will cook for the menfolk... and the dogs - they have cooked veg with their dry dog food to help fill them up! I have managed to keep busy this afternoon, carefully freezing as many leftovers from yesterday as I can!!
Enjoy your dinner, I know I will! :D
I had 5 cups of coffee today! That is a crazy amount for me. Part of it is that I'm so cold. I live on a frickin' subtropical island! Imagine how I'd cope if I lived in, say, Boston!

Anyway… today I am trying to not nibble too much as I have been doing on fast days. It was happening when I hadn't really planned dinner. Today I have about 300cals reserved for dinner, so I need to behave. I'm about to have a miso soup now. It's 3pm in Japan.
I'm in! Had three days of WAY over my TDEE, so must stick to 500 or fewer (haven't done that for ages).
That's great news about the job @Sallyo !
Nice to see you @Gigi55 I always notice how much swimming you do, although I live only quarter of a mile away from the sea I haven't been swimming for years. I hope that your eye problem is being resolved.
I'm in for fasting as usual on a Monday. Seem to be gaining weight and losing motivation just lately so back in the saddle.

Congrats @sallyo - sounds like you've earned it! Happy retirement! :clover:
Congrats on the job.
Im pretty happy as i just completed my first fast day in about a year.
This is the only weight loss method that works for me with the added plus of health benefits. I have a small cholestral issue - i feelconfident 5:2 will sort it out.
I'm in today as well. I've really fallen of the wagon recently and the weight is piling on but today I feel motivated to stick to my 500 cals. Housework day for me then pilates at 6pm.

@Sallyo, thtat sounds like a great arrangement you have.
Thank you everyone for your kind congratulations on my retirement. Actually I have to wait until 25th of March until it's official. The bureaucracy moves slowly. Don't rush it! Still, steps are in motion. It has been a hungry day. I managed however. Dinner was just about all home grown which is very pleasing. As well today I made tomato relish and I'm about to make a zucchini cake which uses 300gm of zucchini. Should make a small dent in the huge supply - and I've only got 2 plants. One more cup of tea and perhaps a square of dark chocolate.
How lovely to see you @gigi55...welcome back! And @Sallyo How EXCITING!!! What a wonderful time for you. Its party time!! Image
I'm fasting today. Salmon tonight with some peas and who knows what else. Not feeling hungry yet...but then its only 9 in the morning!
Merry Monday fast everyone

Oops enjoy the chocolate Sally
Oh nznicole, I share your pain. This is my 185th fast (!) and I'm fighting both panic and a bout of negativism. I woke up feeling really - unusually - hungry, which doesn't bode well for my normal pattern of nothing but coffee and fruit tea until an evening meal. I keep telling myself that the hunger is good, it means my body's using up its reserves, and that my apparent 2kg weight-gain over recent weeks is water and muscle, and nothing at all to do with the f word... On the plus side, my "thin" jeans still fit, the sun's trying to shine and I have plenty of housework to distract me from the pangs!
I'm in today. Been for a run and as I was coming home I got snowed on. Got butternut squash and spinach lasagne rolls for dinner with a piece of chicken.
@SalllyO I think I will have to learn Japanese at some point as my lovely youngest son will insist on watching all the Nintendo you tube channels and asking me what they say or read them. I have no idea
I'm in! Been a bit naughty over the weekend.. had a couple cream cakes... fried foods... but they were oh so good.

The stress of wedding planning is hitting its peak! I feel like I need more time in the day and more hands. I decided to craft felt flower bouquets for all the tables and we've got a board game theme so we're creating fun centrepieces inspired by specific games (Scrabble, Monopoly, etc). All GREAT ideas but a lot to do...

In good news: They have finally discharged my mum from hospital! It only took 6 blasted weeks! She's now recuperating and while she's very weak, being able to sleep uninterrupted and have some homecooked food has been great for her. She seems to be getting better every day.

Just to add to the Japanese thing... they only teach Mandarin (of the non-European languages) at my son's school so he's been taking that. One way I convinced him to do the Mandarin GCSE next year was that it's a great lead in to Japanese if he wants to study that at university later on. Sadly they don't teach it at his secondary school here. And his love of Japanese is coming from anime and Pokemon and youtube.. so lovely to see it's being taught more and more.
Morning/afternoon/evening fellow fasters I'm in as part of my DODOing which is going well. I saw a friend yesterday whom I haven't seen for a while. They just kept on staring at me ( and i mean really staring) then said "you know. There is something really different about you and I just can put my finger on it, you looks so good but there is something different, what is it?" "nope nothing different about me" "yep there is you look so different, your face, have you lost weight?" " yeah" " oh my god you have, you look so good, you look so good, wow" .........I love my friend!!! :)
Feeling the fasting love x
I'm in today, after a pretty indulgent weekend, plus only being able to fit in 1 fast day in each of the last two weeks because of work commitments. Definitely time to get back on the 5:2 wagon!
