Here is the start of today's fasting thread. I'm in first. Today is the day in which I am going to retire. I have learned that I can earn twice my income, (from my superannuation pension), by retiring than I can earn working one day a week, which is what I am doing at the moment. However, as I am happy in my work and the school doesn't want to lose their hard to find Japanese teacher, they are going to continue to employ me as a relief Japanese teacher. How about that! I get paid three times my current wage for doing the same job! I am just about to have my black coffee then it's off to Devonport to see the Boss. If feels like a momentous day and I am very proud that I have stuck at this job for as long as I have, through all the hard time when I wanted to chuck it in. I wasn't always a happy one day a week teacher of Japanese! I have done the hard yards in High Schools and as a class room primary school teacher. Have a good fast day everyone.
This is the Sunday evening part of my Monday FD and my regular 4:3.

Congratulations on your retirement and sweetheart superannuation/relief teaching arrangement, @Sallyo.
That's great news @sallyo!
Enjoy your Marvellous Monday fasts,my fasting friends!
I' m just coming to the end of my Sunday fast x x
Hi @Sallyo that all sounds great to me. I guess the amount of time I work means I'm sort of semi retired without the superannuation benefits yet!!
Just having a black coffee for breakfast. Happy fasting day
Yes, @Wineoclock. I've been 'semi retired' for years and living on the smell of an oily rag. By retiring I can access my hard earned super. I'm so excited!
Congratulations SallyO- this is a special day for you!
I'm fasting today and happy to after a lovely foodie weekend.
Hello Everybody
Cool and fine autumn morning here in Melbs.

Congratulations @Sallyo - enjoy! :like:

Water aerobics and then some domestic chores and computer work for me today. Evening meal will be some wonderful fresh vegetables from our trip to the Farmers Market yesterday.

Have a great day everybody.
cheers
Maggie
I am fasting today as well.
I have resisted the urge to throw my scale out of the window as it told me this morning after a good week of two fasts, sensible eating windows the rest, and my usual good exercise schedule I had gained around 2Kg! (those same 2 kgs I had just struggled to lose over the last 5 weeks......)

However, I am putting it down to a mechanical/water/ random malfunction and will not panic! I will not panic. I will not panic....

Good luck all!
Hi everyone! :)
I am back to Monday fasts after a little break - and certainly feel the need after all the goodies I had yesterday when we had friends over for lunch. I haven't entertained in ages and it was lovely. :) We have renovated our outside decking and now have a roof as well, so it makes outdoor entertaining much more feasible.
@Sallyo, that's great news! What a difference it will make and you may well enjoy the teaching so much more knowing you don't have to do it! :D
@Nznicole, I feel your pain. I seem to be in a constant cycle of gaining then trying to lose the same few kgs... Unfortunately it seems to be getting harder to lose those kgs... I know we can't trust the scales, but I think we do know "inside" whether we should or not. If you feel that you really did have a good week, them certainly don't trust them. But for me, generally if the scales show a gain, it is a gain... I wish you luck! :clover:
And good luck to all fellow fasters. :) :clover:
Hi @Sallyo easy steps as we go. You are super talented, please may we see more of your wonderful art soon
Oh, yes of course I'll fast when the sun rises. Happy fast day to all :clover:
Hi to all my fasting friends!
I've not been on for ages as I've had an annoying problem with my eyes and using the computer, :dazed: however it is getting better and I just wanted to keep in touch.
I've been maintaining my Monday fasts all through and some Thursdays- I do need to get back to twice a week though! Still carrying about 2 kg of Christmas/holiday weight.
@Sallyo- that's wonderful. I'll look fwd to hearing what you get up to now! You always seem SO active.
I'm having a quiet housy morning then I'm off to see Mum, I didn't swim today as I did laps at Gordon's Bay yesterday- a good spot on a very hot morning.
Have a good fast everyone.
Hello @gigi55. So good to see you! My life will actually not change at all, except that I will have more money. I guess I will feel ok about ringing up and saying I won't be at work today, but I would regret my children missing their precious Japanese lesson!.
As for scales, certainly, they lie. I think digital scales particularly. I used to have digital scales and they could tell me one weight before the shower and another weight after the shower - and I'm not THAT dirty! Now I have analogue scales and they never shift! It is a bit disappointing because I don't get the adrenalin rush of thinking I've lost weight, but then, I don't get the 'I've put on weight' dramas either. I trust these scales.
I'm in. I'm trying to get back to MWF (or MWSat) 4:3 after a stint on ADF and then a holiday…

Good luck, Monday fasters! :clover: :clover:
4pm. I had a hungry episode about 2pm and had some cottage cheese and dry biscuits. It's salad for dinner, smoked turkey, lettuce, cucumber, green beans and possibly pear, feta cheese. Might be time for yet another cup of tea.
