Goodmorning fellow fasters
First fast of the working week for me. About a month ago I was horrified to be above 69kg on a Monday, today it was well above 70kg. The chocolate is nearly all gone at home so I'm hoping to see some drops again soon. The usual 'Mexican pizza' from the original 5:2 book for dinner tonight, only coffee, herbal tea and water till then. Anyone joining me today?
I'm in! I'm trying a bit of 4:3 for the next little while so my fasts will be Monday, Thursday and Saturday. I'm struggling a bit today since I've been up from 4:30 this morning thanks to a particularly grumpy but still cute 9 month old. He apparently didn't get the message that the end of daylight savings didn't mean extra early party time!!
But I've had my boiled egg for lunch and I'm on to my millionth cup of green tea so tracking okay I think. Turkey meatballs on zucchini noodles tonight for dinner.
Hi Monday fasters - here today for my usual Monday fast. Finding today a bit tough which is unusual for a Monday - normally I sail through Monday and find Thursday more of a challenge. Just having a handful of grapes and a few cashew nuts then will have a generous bowl of leek and potato soup for dinner.
I'm in for my monday fast. Have salmon and courgetti for dinner and leek and sweet potato soup (homemade) for midday. As I'm doing M W and F I may allow a few extra cals just in case I need them. Keeping busy with drinking plenty of carbonated water should keep my spirits up. Good luck everyone.
Good Morning Everyone
I'm in today, just fizzy water and tea and coffee until tonight and then I'll see what I'm in the mood for.
27 days to go for Majorca and I'm pleased to say I'm well on track.....2lbs for my stone, hope the scales are extra kind to me on Friday.
Good luck everyone
Good day everyone !
I am back from my week in England and back to regular fasts as well. This week will probably be a Monday, Wednesday and Friday fasts, it will depend on how everything goes but I need to go back to a routine.
I am trying to do a shopping list for this month budget friendly but I am kind of bored with it. The good news is, if I go back to my 3 fasts a week, I will only have to worry about 16 days of meal planning

Good luck :clover:
I have come to the conclusion that I hate fasting, with a vengeance. Oh I know it's good for me (and the two fasts last week did make a small difference round the lower abdomen) but nevertheless - it is a RPITA!!! Had a lunch snack on canned green peas and carrots but it didn't taste as good as I remembered. For dinner something Hairy Bikers. But in between? Gaaaaa, I just have the urge to stuff something totally unhealthy in my mouth. But I will persevere.
@Wolfie Oooh I am with you on that one, the urge thing is a true threat to a fast day  I have some fresh baked buns that are taunting me right now and, just talking about them, my stomach is screaming

Tonight it will be a soup made with ratatouille leftovers and onions and courgettes. I have no idea how it will turn out but I like a challenge
I'm in as usual for a Monday. I've been to aquajog and planning a beef stir fry with shiritake noodles for tonight. I am beginning to get a bit downhearted. Until now I have always found that when fasting 'normally' I would lose weight albeit slowly but since Christmas I seem to have hit a plateau although I am still conscientiously counting my 400 cals on fast days. Compared with where I was when I started this WOL I am in a much healthier place but I would so much like to see my weight consistently below 11 stone and preferably nearer 10 1/2. That seemed within touching distance this time last year. Just got to keep plodding on I suppose.
 I'm in today. Mon. and Fri. fast days are working for me right now. I find it harder to keep carbs down the rest of the time. mmmm - that cake looks good. oh, it is! another piece....
Good luck fellow fasters. :clover:
Fasting today as I still feel the after effects of Easter. Had been good until the hot cross buns beckoned, followed by an Easter egg and friends gave me boxes of chocolate and we had a lovely Sunday lunch. Not used to eating a big meal, let alone have so much temptation around. Anyway, no chocolate in the house (yes, I did eat it all) and clothes definitely a bit tighter round the waist, so no excuses. Must undo some of the damage, starting today!
I'm in today after two weeks off for Easter. I'm too scared to go near the scales, so I thought I'd do a week of post-Easter 5:2 before even looking! So far I've had black coffee, veg soup and an apple. Looking forward to an omelette and some yoghurt later on. Hope everyone is surviving their Monday fast! :clover:
I'm in too. Got a 4 mile run in before bookclub. Planning some elliptical and stationary bike miles after that.
:like:
I have a dilemna for tonight. A friend brought me some bouillabaisse (a fish soup from Marseille) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouillabaisse delicious but a tad over the calories allowed (it's 400 cal for 100g). Should I keep it for a non fast day ?

I have been good today, so far, 2 black coffees and some water and I am not even that hungry right now
well @Manderley, it's just me, but I'd save the fish soup for a normal day so you can enjoy it fully and maybe have some wine and bread with...

I'm in today, still early here (not yet 10am), having my black coffee and will make pot o' green tea soon. Had an odd Saturday, woke up feeling punky and puked, though only once. But did housework all day yesterday (found out the cats have FLEAS on Saturday night, so that motivated me; full court press on [natural] anti-flea measures), so am feeling somewhat better, if not totally great. Had a craving for the peach fig bars I love from a local store and picked those up yesterday; this batch is extra good and tempting me now. But I shall remain strong! :geek:

hey Wolfie, I do understand about fasting fatigue; some days I think, Aaaugghh, light day today/tomorrow...whatever. And just want to chuck it. This is where I think (good) habits come in; by seldom changing my light day, I just do it without thinking about it, so I don't have to negotiate with the parts of myself that don't want to fast. And I don't need to use (much) willpower to resist; it's just what I do on those days (like getting up to go to work--I am famous for hating getting up--even though I would sell my soul to stay in bed!).
