Glad to see so many people here today, including newbies. Wishing you all a fine fast.

I'm in today, but already freezing cold, not from fasting but from the cold weather combined with inactivity from being stuck in my house due to all this snow. It really is getting ridiculous, and I say this as someone who has lived in New England since 1968.
Checking in for the day :)
I'm in for one of my usual 4:3 tho', unusually for me, I'm not feeling it today tho' I haven't 'transgressed' :)

I'm feeling odd because I've picked up 4 lbs+ of fluid in <48hrs and it's pretty uncomfortable.

I'm having my morning coffee and tonight I will have a taco salad for dinner without the shell.
Tracieknits : I live in central New York and the schools are all close today. We also having been having a lot of snow here just like you. They were also closed last Monday as well.

Well howdy neighbor! ;-) Yeah, it's winter, so we have plenty of snow. I can't remember the last time we had a major snowstorm though. I can remember getting 36" snowfalls every year until about 7 or 8 years ago. Since then our heaviest seems to be about 18" per storm. I only moved to upstate 15 years ago, but I remember our first winter here we had 18" of snow on April 1st! That was quite the change from the Seattle weather I had become accustomed to :-)
@tracieknits, I remember lots of snowy winters, including the one two years ago where I had 5 feet of snow on my lawn at the beginning of March. What's different this year is the relentlessness of the snow. It isn't the total snowfall per storm, which hasn't been all that huge for this area, but the fact that that snow has been falling so often. Our plowing bill this year is astronomical, since the plow has been coming twice a day on too many days.
ah, it might be a bit different for us - aren't you in the hills? I've only needed help from a plow three times so far this winter. We call if there's too much for us to dig out by hand, which usually means if we wake up to more than about 6 inches. The boys and I like to shovel during the day, so it doesn't accumulate so much.

Where I live we get anywhere from 120-190 inches on snow a year!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's also been real cold this year too. This Friday the high is suppose to be only 6 degree. And right now it's only 15 out.
I am in today after a slightly overly indulgent weekend. I plan on giving 3 fasts a go this week.

No snow all the way down here in the Mid Atlantic area.
Does anyone live in an apartment block? And like me has to endure wonderful cooking smells at teatime on a fast day?
Clinging on by the skin of my teeth til 730 but there's a gorgeous garlicky smell floating around the corridors on my floor..
Further down other delicious smells are drifting up to tantalise me

Ohhh well nearly there now and Fast Number Eleven of 2015 almost completed

@tracieknits, We have a very steep, long driveway that is tricky to do with a snowblower. We probably could do it ourselves if we had to, but we both have health issues that make that not too smart a thing to do. OH goes out after the plow comes and does cleanup but I don't want him hurting himself. We also have a road with no shoulder at the bottom of our drive and the town plows often fill it with hardpacked ice. I just noticed that only the top of our mailbox is visible on the other side of the road where the plow has pushed up a bank that high despite OH digging it out last week.

And we have another 3-5 in the forecast for Thurs and more on the weekend, too. I don't remember moving to Buffalo, but it is sure starting to feel that way!

The fasting is easy today, though, for which I'm grateful. All I've had so far is one coffee with a TBS of half-and-half. No hunger at all.
Good morning everyone! I was in on our Monday fast and it went well. I'm not seeing any weight loss at the moment and I am going to track my cals on myfitnesspal for a while. I would have benefited from joining the challenge, oh well, next one.

Happy fasting 5:2ers. :victory:
Sorry folks. I'm a VERY bit late reporting in for Monday fast day. I did it! I hope all went well for you.
Best wishes to you still fasting today :rainbow:
I'm in today; just before 6pm here in W U.S. Have had my fiber and will have broth soon. Gotta clean the litter boxes :curse: Dinner late as usual.

Almost forgot; my monthly weigh-in was Friday, have lost 2.8lbs in the last month (broke a 2-month plateau). So glad I got that new scale, it's much more accurate than the old one.

@loveswalkingand @DY13, welcome to 5:2 and the forum, also the Monday fasters. @Sioux101, hang in there; we've all been there. Come here if you're having a tough time.
My dinner was 1/2 of a baked chicken breast and sauteed vegetables. One spoon of ice cream, which has become a somewhat ritualistic way to remind myself that this WOE is not deprivation at all. Welcome to all the new folk who might be reading back here. Stick with it, and stick with us, it's worth it!
