Hello all, it is morning here in Canada and I've just got up. I'll be fasting today and ate so much quiche last night that I won't be hungry for hours. I think today's fast will go smoothly although Friday's are usually much easier. I am trying to talk myself into going to an exercise class at the YMCA this morning. I REALLY don't want to go but I haven't been since early December and it would be good for me.
Time to get on with the day, do a few chores. Happy fasting everyone!
Two and a half hours to go then dinner-time yay Image
I am happy the green fellows are well liked by others, too
Good morning! I'm checking in for the day. I think they day will go well. Have a great day everyone
A boiled egg is 72 calories. I find caloriecount.com to be a good resource for finding the calorie counts of foods.
So far so good with having kept active with twenty minutes Jane Fonda exercise then ironing the washing. Only two hours until supper at six & the sun came out this afternoon in grey Sussex!
Well done those who have completed or almost completed their fasts & have a good day to those out west just starting
I've basically slept most of the day on and off. This is a horrible virus but on the plus side I don't want food. I've had a muffin so far and probably have another later.
Sorry that you're not well, @Brand-ie and I hope that you can shift the virus very soon. Meanwhile - on the bright side - at least it's not making you want to eat!
Heehee looks like several of us including me are counting down til dindins time x  x
@brand-ie i hope you feel better soon x its horrid when you have a virus..only upside is the not eating!

Hi everyone, sorry to hear a few people are not feeling well. I hope you all get well soon!!!
I have been fasting today, too and not had any food yet (half past four) So far I am fine and not really that hungry. I have a social meeting at 7.30 so going there straight from work. The way I feel at the moment I may be able to do a 36hr water fast. which is just as well as I only finished off Christmas chocolates and sweets last Saturday. This has completely sabotaged all my fasts in the last two weeks. It's time to get serious.

I keep changing my mind what method of fasting I prefer/is easier: Either three fast days at 500-600calories or two days at 0-350calories. Last week I thought I could do three 600calorie fasts but in the end abondoned the Friday one. Today I feel like a complete zero calorie fast is possible. Isn't it strange how it changes all the time.
I'm in today, and I really need it! I had a wonderful weekend of 29 hours of solving puzzles, but my eating was, predictably, a disaster. I was in a cold room surrounded by candy and mental challenges, plus people eating junk, and I just went hog wild. I gained back all the weight I lost from my first fast week last week, but I know at least part of it was sodium.

However, this week is going to be another week of challenges, as I have first dates for dinner Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I may try to skip eating at my friend's Thursday TV night (a first!) and fast that day, and do 16:8 eating windows for the date nights. I will try to fast on Saturday as well - not sure how that will go when I don't have the structure of work. Any advice?
Just checking in doing well so far, don't think I will get my evening meal until 7 pm so I will certainly be ready for it!.
Sounds like everyone has had a successful fast day well done everyone.
I just heard Michael Mosley on radio 2 discussing 5.2 very interesting.

I did weigh myself at the end of last week, saw Dr on Monday but scales do not move. I find I am confused and am trying not to head in a downward spiral. Yes I follow and do 5:2 all the time (save xmas). I am just wondering what's going on. Thank you for reading, I really needed to air this.

I am so surprised that you have lost 3 dress sizes and not lost any weight! I know that I didn't see much weight lost for 3-4 months but went down 2.5" in waist, but I did lose some weight, and that was only about 1 dress size. Does the doctor have any explanation for that?

There is a lot of evidence that keeping moving helps with arthritis, so I would agree with your doc to keep walking. If you're standing at school, rather than walking, (or even worse, bending!), that can actually be worse than walking. Are you able to take ibuprofen? Certainly, you would want to ask the doc about that, as it can cause stomach bleeding in some people.
Today's fast is going well. Nothing to eat all day until just now when I had a cheese omelette. Going swimming in a minute so hopefully that will stop the evening munchies. Good luck to all those still going :)
I'm on today - usually do Tuesdays, but being fed at a meeting tomorrow so found it easier to change. I'm doing dry January and normally can't face Mondays after wine on Sunday, but feel up for it now.

There's a much larger thread on a Monday than a Tuesday, quite a popular day.
