Hi all x I'm a newbie (ish, I toyed with 5:2 last year but not seriously) so here I am and on my first fast day too . I've had a light salad for lunch today and got soup with scrambled egg and ham for tea *yum lol*

You're all doing great and no doubt I'll get to 'know' you all well :-)
I'm in, rather late to the party today. There are lots of bugs around the world at the moment aren't there? My guts are definitely not quite right.

@Lizardline glad you had a fun weekend! I don't work, so have your Saturday problem every Fastday! I try to make sure that I keep busy, go out of the house at lunchtime (to avoid temptation!) even if just shopping or for a cuppa somewhere, and I usually plan my evening meal so that I'm less likely to dwell on food all day.

@Golarne Thanks! I usually like to go mall-walking, so I can do that this weekend, provided it doesn't snow too much. That is, assuming none of my first dates turns into a second date for Saturday! I would hope for a second date, but I do need a bit of a break from eating out. Maybe one of them will like mall-walking?
This is a great Monday thread everyone! I'm just home from work and dinner preparation is calling me (healthy growling tummy) Cod, lots of veg and spicy salsa verde @Sallyo includes LOTS of basil  Watching BBC 2 Great British garden revival Sallyo - they are talking about lily I'm not sure if the series will cover VEG
So many of you talk about how great the Monday fast is and other fasts are more difficult as your week progresses, definitely worth exploring, @Carorees may have written a guidance piece on this?
Good luck to all of you out west. I'll pop in later :clover: :clover: :clover:
I'm on my 2nd fast day after a loooong, loooong break ......... and the extra kilos are back as well :-)
Really suffered through the day and will now go to bed and hope for sleep. I will NOT give up!
Hi @Hookylady a very warm welcome to you. We hope you had a good fastday today. There is a thread where you can' introduce yourself' to the forum (only what you want to share!) and set out your goal so the forum can help you on your journey. Everyone is here to support you, it's a very happy place to be

Hello there, @nadiaj - these things do happen and Well Done for finding your way back to 5:2. Good Luck for your successful reboot of your fasting WOL.

Welcome @Hookylady - it sometimes happens that people don't take to fasting on the first attempt but I've seen several people reboot Intermittent Fasting and it was successful for them and allowed them to reach their health and weight goals.

Anyhow, I'm in the closing hours of Monday's fast (started on Sunday evening and will officially end with breakfast on Tuesday).

Good Luck to those fasters with many more hours to go. :clover:
Well, I imagine I'll be the last to post today as it is almost 10 p.m. I think some are already into their Tuesday fasts. I've eaten my calorie allotment for the day and again I am wanting more, even though I'm not that hungry. I will persevere, though, and make it through the next hour and a bit until bedtime. I won't be eating tomorrow until the early afternoon so perhaps that will be a mini-fast. I'm looking forward to a large meal. Time for another cup of tea and some more knitting to keep my hands busy.
G'night all! or good day to the rest of you!
Nope, @Stephd, I get the last-poster-prize today (maybe, there are a couple of west coast forumites we haven't heard from yet - @Ferretgal, you there?). I had a bowl of my home-made chicken soup for my dinner, as well as some broth from the same chicken midday, and extra broth with my meal. My husband is a strange creature who avoids the liquid in a soup. As I can't imagine wasting something that tasty, I just give him the solids, and drink the broth myself!
Hope @Sallyo is having a great holiday!
Why hello wendyjane! I see you are two hours behind me. Enjoy the rest of your night, I'm off to bed after another successful fast! yippee. These fasts seem to be getting easier each time.
Have a wonderful night! sweet dreams
Jeepers, I was in and did a reasonable fast day. How quickly the days are going. :geek:
Yes, @wendyjane, I was in today! Trying a mindfulness thing, so not "multitasking" (keeping the computer, TV, radio etc on all day...). Got a lot done too. Light day went well, still have some cals for a cup of popcorn and a frozen yogurt bar before bedtime. Bet the rest of y'all are already tucked in; some are probably up for Tuesday.

Guess I'm inbetween on the soup thing; as a vegetarian, can't do the chicken broth (yeah, I know it's yummy), but veggie broth and mushroom broth are both good too! I also like the Pacific PHO base and the tortilla soup base you can buy at the store...

How 'bout them SEAHAWKS! WOO WOO! (tried their best to give us all a heart attack)
Congrats on your team, @ferretgal. I'm not even a football fan, and that game was still exciting.
I thought pho was generally a beef broth?
You must really be a night owl - you hadn't had your bedtime snack at 1 AM!
@wendyjane, yeah I'm a terrible night owl (worse now that I'm unemployed); early bedtime for me is 2am, late would be 4am.

Yeah, most Pho and Ramen broths are beef based (or pork, for the latter); us vegetarians just gotta make do!

I have to admit, I'm a fair weather fan (mostly because losing puts me in such a bad mood no one can stand me). My 25-year-old son has never been into sports, but even he has enjoyed the 'Hawks recent success!
