I bought a low cal ready meal and added some carrots it was very nice and saved me the trouble of counting cals, some days it's the way to go for me.
I don't feel guilty at all, i find it useful sometimes just to have the stress of working out my days calories done for me
In U.S., beautiful spring day here. On fast day #7, still experimenting with what works best for me. Last fast day, I found that I MUST have significant protein with dinner, or I wake up starving in the middle of the night.

As a long-time breakfast eater, I'm trying to see how late I can push my first food on fast days. Made it till 6:30pm on Monday, but that's because I had two meetings 2-4pm. Finding that having a specific goal (time) helps; thinking, I'd like to make 16 hours foodless, which makes my target 1:30pm (currently just after 12). Seeing if I'm one of those who gets hungrier after I first eat; I suspect so. Since my first 2 fast days, haven't had any bad effects (except for the wakeup due to lack of protein; won't do that again!). But I don't want to get all my calories at dinner; given the things I eat on fast days, 500 cals at once is just too much! I find 300 very filling, if done right.

Oh, another experiment is to see how what I ate the night before the fast day affects me on the fast day...in other words, if having a nice hefty dinner with protein sustains me longer than ice cream...

Wasn't expecting to be in today......but I am, as it turns out.

Yesterday was my 2nd fast of the week & when I woke this morning I wasn't particularly hungry. Plus, I had tons to do. Before I knew it, it was 2.45pm! Made myself a beef roll, because at that stage, it was not a fast day.

But here I am now, at 9.50pm.....& nothing else has passed my lips, bar fluids. So, I'm thinking, here is my very first back-to-back.......woohoo!

Can't believe food is starting to take on less significance for me.....unbelievable!

Hi everyone,
Sorry it's so late, it was my 2nd fast day of the week and it went ok, but I did get very hungry and nearly gave up!
I'm hoping to fit in a session of swimming and some hill walking on the treadmill before my next fast day next Tuesday.
I was invited for a cup of tea at a friend's house and decided to keep my fast day anyway. Had an herbal tea without sugar. Was presented with a plate of sweets and *ahem* had to sample two in order not to be rude.... *ahem* She casually mentioned that they were Trader Joe's cookies and I'm normally not crazy like this but all I really wanted to do was get to my phone so I could find out the calorie content so I could strategize how many to eat without breaking the bank. Ah fast day woes! Usually when I'm invited somewhere I would move my fast day around but I really felt like getting it over this week.
It was much easier not eating lunch.

OTOH, the food I ate today didn't work out as well as I'd hoped and had a lot more sugar in it than I had realized.

So I will need to work up something better for my one meal if I'm going to eat this way.
Back again; made it to 3pm (target was 1:30!) till eating. Then got peckish about 6pm and have to make a long drive, so had a cup of broth with a tiny drop of coconut oil. I love salt, so this is pretty satisfying to me.
I'm in today! For the past year, I've had 250 cals at lunch and 250 for dinner. This week I've managed to skip dinner. I can't skip lunch because it makes me cranky at work, but I'm hoping this makes the weight start to come off.
Good luck everyone~
