I will be in when the morning comes :) I really need a good repair day since I've been eating really bad this week. :frown:
Fasting today but, anyway, I'm in need of a bit of a detox after a wine tasting last night...
Maybe I shouldn't grocery shop on a fast day, but on a good note I now have enough food to sustain everyone on this forum if we have some apocalyptic event.
Wineoclock, how are you doing with the bushfires?

So glad you are thinking of us all, wineo'clock!
I've been cooking- a mulberry crumble and a ginger cake for a lunch on the w/e. Wish I could share these too- tomorrow of course.
Works out ok, no licking the beaters today!

All good thanks Lady Muck. Our property hasn't been in any danger from these fires. I'll be glad when the winds die down and there's no fear of the current fires flaring up.
I have broken my cardinal rule of no baking on a fast day as we have friends coming for the weekend. So far, rhubarb and glazed pecan crumble with a gingered rhubarb syrup, cauliflower soup with green peppercorns and avocado oil, and finally a broad bean and feta mash, all from the wonderful Paradiso year cook books. Nowt has passed my lips other than four pecans sp far. What a martyr!!
Well done Debs, loving the sound of the crumble. Its middle of the afternoon and so far my very first official Fast day is going well. I had a nectarine and apple at about 1.00 not feeling hungry as yet, but having coffee and peppermint tea.

Just a salad and some cold lamb for the evening meal at this stage.

Maggie.
Well done Maggiee, keep up the good word and sorry about the food porn!!;)
I actually like cooking on fasting days. I feel very clear in my mind that I don't lick beaters etc, and it comforts me to be dealing with food, even though I can't eat it. I am going ok today. It's a work day and has been a bit trying. Everyone is very hyped. Tonight we are having tofu and lots of veg with some kind of low calorie wok noodles which I picked up at Coles. But that's a long way off. Freezing winds blowing up from Antarctica. Now I'll go and visit my mum in the nursing home.
logging in late 10 to 4, not long till I have a boiled egg. Today is not too hard. Starting to think about food is getting longer in the day. yay.

Happy fasting

on a side note, I just heard an 8 year old has started one or some of those fires. Where are their parents?

When there is a death as a result, they should not be charged with arson but rather murder. If of course they are old enough to understand the gravity and if with criminal intent.
I have also understood, it was also started by 12 year olds. Just wow and shocked.
On train, be home by 5. Hungry today, few coffees and the foulest protein bar on earh from a servo...erk like eating choc flavoured cardboard. Note to self: get organised and cook on weekend! Glad weather has gotten better Wineo
Oh wow I'm hungry.. contemplating 3rd mug of miso but want to make sure I've got enough calories for my chicken soup and boiled egg tonight!!
Just starting my day in France. Animals fed and medicines given. Am sitting now with the puppy having my breakfast coffee. Today will finish my third week back.
I woke to the smell of new bread as put a loaf on last night, it did not make me feel like eating it as I know this is a fast day. This has been the key for me, getting the fast days in my head knowing the other days I eat what I want. My clothes feel looser even if the scales do not reflect this. I found too it works for me to eat nothing until this evening. I am planning spaghetti bolognese tonight, a low calorie version with a tiny bit of pasta for me, which is fine as I cannot eat much pasta now.
Sorry for the ramble, stay with it, we can do it. And keep safe all
I'm in! Good luck to everyone just starting their day and well done to those who have finished!!
