Hi everyone I'm pleased to report I ignored the hunger pangs just had a salad and stuffed mushrooms and ended up throwing some of it away really full lol.
Thanks to everyone who encouraged me at my low point this afternoon would have been so easy to break my fast. My mood has lifted too.
Good on you @Hazelnut20 for turning down fish and chips! Don't know that I could have managed that today. For my part, I had to turn down freshly baked cookies! URGH. Why do people always seem to rub it in your face on fast day? LOL! But thanks to my buddy @Chocobunny having my back and the forum for extra inspiration, I managed to not snort them.

Speaking of Cookie Monsters, have you all seen this?

Good luck everyone!!!
Congrats for turning down the cookies @mikesgrl79 - I'd call that superhuman in the denial stakes.......sooooo hard!

As we know, though, tomorrow is another day....hurrah! Makes it easier to cope with doesn't it?

Keep on keeping on!

Here's a belated response to your question of the first post here, @Sallyo.

I would love a mixed salad with smoked turkey. I would use mixed baby greens, cranberries (craisins - sweetened and dried - do you have them there?), avocado, and jicama (do you get jicama? - I think it's fantastic in salads). A bit of balsamic vinegrette.

This is really the wrong thing to be writing about on a fast day! At least your fast day is over.
I'm in today! Had a nice baby spinach salad with a small can of tuna. The tuna was Thai Chili spiced, so it was tasty and I didn't need to use mayo. Not sure about dinner, maybe a soup as it is still cold out.
Never heard of jicama. Animal, vegetable or mineral? We can get craisins.
Jicama is a Mexican root vegetable. This page says they have a mild, nondescript flavor. I disagree, I think they are sweet and tasty, as well as crunchy. A perfect salad veggie.

I'm happy to say that I made it very well through my first fast day without breakfast. I did have a yogurt around 3:30 PM. Then later I did my C25K training and am now enjoying a delicious healthy dinner!
I'm hungry tonight! Quite possibly using 190 calories on a bag of freeze dried mangos wasn't the most prudent lunch! then scrambled eggs for dinner. Now I'm drinking sleepy time tea and waiting for bed.
