Hi fasting friends. :-) Lets do it! I'm aiming to fast till a dinner of Asian chicken soup with prawn wonton and dumplings (from a freezer pack) and a million green veges. What's on your menu?
Julianna. :-)
Oh, hello, Julianna. You beat me by 3 minutes while I was writing my post. Some other clever person will have to merge our posts.

I am having a baked fish with a tomato vegetable kind of sauce, breadcrumbs and a big green salad. Wonderful to be able to pick a lettuce out of the garden. My OH has revolted over Asian soups. I must admit my last effort on Monday wasn't very nice. I think dumplings would have made the difference.
Looks like a clever mod has already merged us. Thank you ( waves) :like: I love the sound of your fish dish Sallyo. I baked 6 chicken legs yesterday then boiled the bones with some veges to make a broth. An amazing amount of chicken came off those 6 drumsticks-plenty to feed a family of 5. In case you want to try it I bought the 'Chan's yum cha prawn and chive wantons pack 12 at woolies 31 cals each.

Smoked salmon and rocket leaves for lunch but not sure yet what for dinner. Thursday is my day off and still my food shopping day...
Morning fellow fasters. We're going to have pearl barley, mushroom and broad bean risotto then berries and yoghurt. Will fill in the day with grocery shopping and hairdresser.
Good fasting everyone.
Hey happy thursday fasters! Have a great healthy repairing day! I did wednesday this week instead of Thursday coz its halloween and we have quite a calorific feast planned for the evening! I am going to go easy, gonna aim for eating about half of what i would eat if i was just gonna let rip!
No, my other start up is still there. It's embarrassing when that happens. Perhaps I will copy paste it into here.

Fasting today: Thursday, 31st October
Postby Sallyo » 31 Oct 2013, 06:19

Here goes. After a very hard fast on Monday, I'm back. Working today so it should be easier. I think on Monday I didn't have enough structure in my day and just hung around the house, unmotivated, thinking about food.

Disappointing weigh in today, up to 72.8. My highest weight since I started daily weighing on the 8th of October was 72.9, but I've been as low as 70.5 and have mostly hovered around the 71s. Not to worry. It's just a blip. But perhaps my body has gone into famine mode, doesn't want to lose weight, doesn't want to fast, obsessing about food all the time. This too will pass.

@wineoclockWhat's the calorific count of pearl barley?
As a newbie I am a tad confused, I sent a post and it's gone!! Oh well, do it again.

I am in today thanks Julianna and other Fasters - evening meal planned at this stage is Chicken with Spinach and Mushroom and some Strawberries.

Happy Fasting Day everybody. :-D

cheers Maggie.
I'll be fasting when it's Thursday here in England, by which time you will all be relaxing after your dinners
@Sallyo 100g of pearl barley 325 calories, that's about 1/2 cup, uncooked.
Usually do Thursday-but I am just finishing a Wednesday fast as I am out for lunch in the morning.
I must say I find it harder with only 1 day between fasts.
Hi all, I'm in today as usual. Fasted on Monday sort of, it has been traumatic with my youngest having a bike accident and breaking his neck on Sunday although no spinal cord damage thank you God, so spent most of that day in the hospital. Needed comfort chocolate!
Got very tired on Monday in the hosp. so ended up having a bit more than my 500 cal but exceptional circumstances call for flexibility I reckon!

He is now here and we are sort of back to as normal as you can get. He has a broken C6 vertebrae, ligamentus damage around that and both legs are a bit hurt. Stitches and bruising but no more broken bones. Phew! He is in a neck brace and won't be working for two months minimum, or driving..... taking him home to his house today, so will have a normal repair day today.

Hope we all have an easy fast! :geek:
Hellow fellow thursday fasters and welcome to any newbies jumping in for the first time today.

@Judio - that is absolutely reason for flexibility, chocolate and a bottle of wine! So pleased that it wasn't worse than it is. Gosh life really can change in the blink of an eye!

I am in for my second fast this week. I've got a busy day, and am spending my fast day cals tonight on a mini burritto from Guzman and Gomez - YUM, can't wait!
I'm in today. Having a pumpkin and ginger soup later so I'll be wee, wee weeing all the way home!!

Judio, that is terrible news, but a relief that the spine is ok. Just hope he can sit still for two months and give it time to repair itself.
