Hi Everyone,
I'm in, having computer glitches today.
I did my laps this morning, but I have been starving and feeling headachy all day.
I haven't been eating properly all week so I think my body isn't pleased!
Anyway I have had my early dinner of tuna and veg and will have some fruit soon.
I was doubtful this morning but so glad I have fasted.
All the best to the northern hemisphere fasters for a good day.
Yes me too - day off at home today, near hurricane outside (yes really - just confirmed by the BBC weather - gale force 11!) - a day for porridge and soup I think
I'm in on my third and final fast today :) I've been really struggling this week - so hard to fast when your flatmate eats KFC and pizza on your fast days! And she has a presentation to finish for work tomorrow, which means she will stock up on sweets to nibble on tonight while she makes the finishing touches! So far I've stuck to it though, and then tomorrow I can eat a little of what I fancy - probably a slice of the fruit cake my Dad's lovely fiance made :) As for today, I'm snacking on veg if I get really hungry through the day and a nice bowl of Moroccan chicken soup tonight.
Hi, I'm in today - I haven't fasted for two weeks as was in Italy last week on holiday. I did notice, although not fasting, that I found it much easier to go longer periods without eating than I did before starting 5:2, and didn't put on too much weight (despite being in Italy).

Good luck to everyone and welcome to couchpotato.
I've had a successful fast day after a day of non stop eating rubbish yesterday which is quite unlike me so off to bed now. Good luck to you all and be careful in that wild weather our Btitish friends.
Xxx julianna
Still clinging on to fast days. Well, I say clinging on, actually I find fast days easier than normal days in a way. Lately I have found that I am eating much more 'naughty' food on normal days but I am totally in control on fast days. Strange!

Anyway, I'm in today and won't be eating anything until tonight when I've got my chicken casserole with herb dumplings...deeeelish!!

Good luck everyone and happy fast day!
I am in today too and 'yes' it's wild out there! There's a flood alert here in Norfolk.....good job we're on high ground (well as high as you can go for Norfolk!).

Good luck everyone.
Day nearly done. It went well but not helped by someone who put out a bowl of chocolate bullets at a late afternoon meeting. I watched them for almost an hour, hile people at the meeting took handfuls at a time. Eventually I took a single bullet and saw how long I could savour it in my mouth! For Goodness Sake! A chocolate bullet!
I'm in today, but have a sore throat and trying not to cough too much. So I'm on the Lemsip!

Just been reading all about the windy weather up north - hope everyone's OK... I'm down in East Sussex - I've noticed the wind has been getting up a bit in the last half hour but nothing sustained. A good reason not to go out though

Good luck and good health to all Thursday fasters :clover:
Hi again everyone :)
Almost at the end of the fast day, which went pretty well as planned :) :)
When we were at the cinema, for the first time EVER my mother decided she wanted popcorn.
I couldn't risk even having one piece, cos I knew I would not to be able stop!
Managed not to eat until early evening. Veggie soup (with 10 diff veggies!) blended was yummy for us all for dinner - dad loves soups, his favourite food.
I hope those of you who were struggling today managed okay in the end, and best wishes to those of you still with some hours to go.
Cheers
Sassy
PS I understand that Melb had some pretty wild weather today, tho not quite what some of you in the UK are experiencing. Trust all is well with you all.
NB Nursebean - I have the same problem you describe re control on fast and non-fast days. I think I am going to have to wait until after the holiday period to get back into better control...
Hello all

Just checking in here as it's been a while. Not fasting today but am still going strong. Hoping that this year I have finally found a strategy top avoid excess chrimbo poundage, especially as I have loads of meals out/buffets etc!
Hello all, I'm back after a good nights sleep

I hope all you fasters had a good day, I'm envious of the folks in Europe who are well on their way to dinner ... I just had tea with milk, but I feel good about the fast ahead; psychologically I'm in a good head space to do this today ... ask me again later :-)

@Nursebean and @sassy I'm with you both on the being bad during feast days, fasting seems so much easier than controlling cravings - I don't know if its because I'm at goal or if I'm feeling deprived and need to make up for it? do you know why you're having trouble?

In any case, today is another day ... hope the winds are ok wherever you are (north of England and southern US seems to be experiencing some pretty strong ones)

(Having computer glitches so I may end up with two posts here  )
I'm in today for my first fast since a 2-week holiday in Africa. No fasts during it unless you count a 36-hour episode of gastroenteritis during which I only drank water ( not a recommended strategy  ). Now have a 5 lb. gain to deal with. Looking forward to my tea and a 500 cal day.

Good luck everyone and an easy fast. :clover:  :clover:
I'm in today, hoping it'll be better than Tuesday's fast - very dizzy head in the afternoon. All going well so far... I managed Tuesday's fast though so even if it happens again I know I can manage!
