Late log in for me. I've been fasting all day and I've just had early dinner at 4.30pm. It was chicken caesar salad. Now I am full up. It was pretty desperate after I got home from work, but all good now. This should do me until bed time. I have a phone meeting at 6pm and it has always been a problem juggling the meeting and dinner, but tonight I won't have to. I'm going to get my knitting organised so I can knit during the meeting. Now to read the blasted minutes and agenda so I can at least pretend I know what's going on.
I'm in! I seem to be back to managing two fasts a week. (Much helped by my OH joining in.) It is very clear that my 'eating normally' after reaching target last year was in fact eating slightly too much because my TDEE had dropped. Yesterday I had a 'normal' day of a small cereal breakfast, small toast for lunch, chicken, veg &blue cheese for tea, and some choc in the evening - but the nutty flapjack alone (at Costa) came in at just under 500cals!! A good job I had a semi-fast on Tuesday which will have balanced it out! It's annoying though, because I'm doing fairly well at resisting treats between meals. Grr.
Have a good day Europeans :clover: , hope the USA crew do well when they wake up :sleepy: and hooray for the fast finishers Down Under! :victory:

I hope the meeting was ok @Sallyo, what a good job you had an early meal or your rumbling tummy might have made it tricky
I'm in today. Its been an easy one. I love fasting when I'm working!
Hi all, I'm in today. Its the 19th day of my 9-week Xmas Challenge - 4.5lbs down by this morning ... but disaster looms! I've a family celebration for my mum's 80th all weekend, then next week a social thing for work extending over 2 days & an evening out - 6 opportunities to pig out in 7 days! Today I'll live on black coffee till a late lunch of soup, then more soup & a bit of chicken for dinner, a satsuma & a cup of tea to celebrate this evening. Good luck all - I'm jealous of the people in Australia who must be almost through their day already!
Interesting you mention brekky and missing it! First go around last year with 5:2 I made sure I ate at breakfast however found I was very hungry by lunch and things usually fell away from there! This time around I just have my skinny mocha (150Cals) at brekky and find I can go a lot longer through the day with out eating so maybe in the early days the no brekky has its advantage - anyway, I'm certainly no expert being 2 days in!!!!!! Thanks for the posts today everyone really helps
I am in too. Feeling a bit down, telling myself it is in the mind, my body is fine. Not eating anything until supper. Black coffee and tea and water now. I will have tea with milk as an afternoon snack. I hate black tea.
It was incredibly dark this morning. A bit depressing. The days are getting shorter here in these latitudes. But the heavy clouds only meant that it has now been snowing for a couple of hours. That is nice. Hope it'll settle and make the world a lighter place. I went away last weekend to visit some friends who offered Creme Brulé and other scrumptious things. Also walked with them quite a bit. Not much weight gain, phew. My not having lunches brought my weight down to 'normal'. Maintenance fasting today, as my 'normal' weight is stubbornly more than 1 kg over my ideal weight. See if I can get it down to a better level tomorrow morning...
I love spending time on this forum, when fasting gets a bit tough... Let's hang on in there everyone, despite of the weather.
PS: I tired to include such information as that I live in Finland, under my avatar, but obviously didn't do it quite right.
I'm in. Going to try and wait a bit longer to eat today. Just had coffee and water so far. Good luck everyone!
I'm in. third of the week. Good fasting everyone
@Margosylvia - I think you go 'User Control Panel' - Edit profile or something and you get 'location'.
Hi @Sassy1, there's such a lot of possibilities to explore with IF. Many variations and ways to get where we want to go. Thanks for the encouragement, much appreciated! It's exciting challenging myself to see how little food I really need on a fast day.
I find the more prepared I am for the evening meal, the better I can discipline myself during a fast. If I'm not organised it seems set my whole day on edge. Today was I was able to be strong. :)
I'm here! I almost forgot though. I got up and made my breakfast then looked at it and remembered it is Thursday so I threw it away lol
I'm in for my first and only fast this week. Had to juggle the week. So far had coffee and got baked egg and spinach for dinner.
I have been fasting today, but it has been tougher than usual because I was so busy yesterday I didn't eat very much, so this is feeling more like an alternate day fast. This is the first time I've felt hunger pangs since I did one of those.

But it will pass. OH tried to tempt me to go out to dinner (having forgot it was my fast day) but I stood firm ven though I could just about taste the dinner he had suggested. We'll likely go there for lunch tomorrow as I don't like driving in the dark and this restaurant is 40 minutes away.
Hey @chinchin, I was one of those who considered breakfast non-negotiable. I used to pester my poor son (who's now 25) to eat in the morning, even though he had no appetite (of course, schools aren't exactly friendly to eating when you're hungry, and it would hit him about 10am, long before he could get lunch).

I've been working from home since Dec. 2013. This meant my schedule is very flexible and my only limitation on when I could eat is scheduled meetings (phone). So, I could wait till I got hungry, typically not till about 10:30am. (Strangely enough, I usually am hungry about that time, even if I ate a substantial breakfast earlier.) If I ate then, I often was not hungry for lunch and wouldn't eat again (well, maybe some chocolate in the afternoon  ) till after work (5:30pm). Or, I often just waited till lunch and ate then. This was all before 5:2 (which I started in late April 2014).

5:2 has gotten me acquainted with the feeling of being hungry and not feeling that I must eat immediately or bad things will happen! So, I seldom eat breakfast now (thought I like my breakfasty foods, and will eat those later in the day!). In fact, a few weeks ago I went out running errands with my son and a friend, and had not eaten anything (just black coffee). Didn't feel hungry till late in the afternoon, then mentioned casually that I hadn't eaten all day and was getting hungry. Some discussion about where to eat ensued (my son and I are vegetarians, and he is very fussy); didn't work it out for a few hours so I waited to eat. In the past, I would have agitated to stop, get a protein bar, imminent death! (exaggerating slightly, but you get the idea...) When my son said, Hey, you said you were hungry awhile ago...what's up? I just said, I'm OK, I can wait. 5:2 did that for me...awesome!
@Canoegal, my first couple of months I put a sticky note on the bathroom mirror so I wouldn't forget...
