I'm fasting today. I've been a bit naughty on non-fast days this week, and have tried (but failed) not to go overboard and eat all the things that are bad for me! I don't know how far over the TDEE I actually went (I'm hoping it wasn't by too much)

Wonder if the scales will be kind tomorrow...
Hi Yes I'm doing a ''semi'' fast today I'm doing the full 24hrs and then eating what I want tonight as I'm having a meal out with friends
My meal tonight should come within my TDEE so should be ok:-) however I don't think it will do the plateau any good :clover: Sue
I'm here for my second fast this week. Travelling today and I have never yet managed a successful fast when travelling before so I'm doing things a bit differently by including lunch and dinner. I'm giving Slim Rice a go after reading about it on the forum. I tried shiritaki noodles a couple of years ago and didn't get on well with them. The rice seems to be having a similar effect. Just thinking about it kills my appetite - perfect fasting food

Holidays start tomorrow so I need to think about if/when I'll be fasting. It'll be pretty active (running, cycling, snorkelling) so might just take a break altogether or do some variation of 24hrs/16-8
Happily joining in.... Enjoy everyone!
Morning fellow fasters I too am fasting today 2nd of the week! Just had my one coffee of the day so far and sipping away at water. Thursdays are usually the easier of the 2 days for me and i can get all the way til teatime without food ... we shall see! I was very naughty yesterday and ate more biscuits (homemade) and pancakes than i should have but i'm not going to beat myself up about it I shall walk more briskly today when out for my walk.

Good luck with the fasting folks tomorrow is another day!
I have been in today managed to get to 3pm then just had to have some garlic cauliflower soup from this site. So calculated the cals left for the day and still due to come in on target.

Hope your day went well byoung and that the stress lifts. It is hard when you hit a wobbly fasting patch as well. Hang in there :)

Funny as we are on a WOL I have calculated fasting for a procedure into a fast day. Very economical so all the best. Good fasting everyone
Hello from Sunny Birmingham,

I am here for a few days and today should be a fast day but I've decided to do a 16:8 today instead.
Being in a city is a treat for me, I've been to a gym, and am going to do some sightseeing, before finding somewhere nice by a canal for a late lunch, which by my calculations I can have around 1.30.

Good luck to all those doing a proper fast :clover:
Morning all, this will be my 2nd fast day this week and I am doing ok, having a bit of a lazy morning just looking through all posts ( keeping me busy)sipping my water. i try not have anything until around 12 and that is normally a cup of tea...then a tai fishcake with veg for dinner...... happy fasting everyone x
I'm in, second fast this week. Meetings at work through lunchtime which would normally be annoying but today should be helpful.

Had a nurse appointment for my contraceptives this morning and felt a bit odd as couldn't have my morning coffee before it (it's previously given a false high blood pressure reading) but have now had my coffee with cream so all's well with the world. (Note to self - caffeine addiction something to deal with in the future??)

She asked me to get on the scales too which said 58 (nearly a kg lower than at home) and she said that's BMI 21 - low side of healthy so best not to lose more weight. Didn't mention I was even trying to. Anyway BMI 21 is my exact goal and not quite there yet.
Where did the day go?! It's already 8 pm here and I just realised I hadn't posted in the fasting thread. Have had a good fast, and dinner was sushi which I enjoyed very much. Tomorrow I'm off on a girls' fun road trip for five days with a NZ friend who arrives in the morning, so will miss my usual Monday liquid fast for sure. Will maybe skip a meal or two while I'm away but will not stress about it; will be interesting to see how next week's weigh-in goes!

My best wishes to you byoung and Hellengerin.
*groan*... Fasting today and already starving. Well it may not actually be hungry, it could well be just an 'acidy' stomach due to stress, broken sleep patterns etc. and my body is telling me to eat something to mop up the acid. I have gone one better and taken an antacid tablet, to see what that does. I should have fasted yesterday, but I really couldn't do it. I think my constant, every third day fasting cycle needed a break.
I am also bagging up most of the chocolate in the house and giving it away to the kids in the street. This may seem a bit extreme, but not when in a fit of insanity or bargain hunting I bought a 5kg box (yes I said 5 kilogram) of chocolate balls thinking I could be good. When its obvious the last week that I can't, and neither can my diet buddy , my son who has admitted to just wandering into the pantry and grabbing a fist full of them 4 or 5 times a day.

So onward and upward. Its only a fast day, it will soon be a normal day.
I'm in for 2nd fast of the week...and will clock my progress in the tracker tomorrow, so I had better be good. Had a run this morning and feeling good so far! Am making up for a naughty but lovely evening yesterday - meal out with hubby, followed by cinema and a huge pack of chocolate covered raisins. We were supposed to share, but don't think my husband's reflexes were quick enough. I'll be interested to see if I still lose...
I'm fasting today too. It's my second week of 5:2, and my second day this week. Had a morning tea with milk, but other than that I will save my cals for dinner....
Hi everyone. I'm fasting too. I don't know why I have found it a bit difficult today. I usually make it to noon easily without hunger. Today, I'm starving! I had a coffee with a wee bit of skim milk this morning and I just had half a grapefruit. Will drink a cup of tea now to hold me off a bit longer. Almost noon!

Have a good fasting day everyone!

You are describing my problems of the last 2 weeks more or less exactly. when i am tired and stressed as I have been I can't tolerate hunger. Or maybe I interpret every bad thing as hunger!

Thank you all for your spurt today.mi had a good fast and did not feel very hungry at all. Also very very busy but coped OK. It feels good to be back on track. And fasting seems to reset my cravings switch. Hard to explain but I am not craving chocolate as I was for the last few days (I gave in to temptation!!!!)
