Your probably right about the coco pops. I've heard lots about carbs triggering hunger but what happens when you wake up so hungry? :( this is so hard for me!
I'm happy with my evening meal, I like that the calories are counted for me and at the end of the fast it actually tastes really nice! There's no way I could go all day without breakfast, no matter how much water I drank! I don't know how u lot do it. I wish it could be as easy for me :(
I normally do have breakfast!! This is my first time trying not to, I'm not sure how it will go. But, there's no reason you can't have breakfast, you just have to have a more filling breakfast. I make these things called egg mugs - I use egg beaters, and add laughing cow cheese and some deli ham. (It's from Hungry Girl, if you are familiar with her.) It's about 125 calories and keeps me pretty full until lunch. If you don't like eggs, you might try a high protein oatmeal instead. But, just sugar and carbs aren't going to hold you for long.
I love eggs, but just checked on my fitness pal and one boiled egg is 75 cals and one slice of ham is 40... That's quite a lot gone if I have two of each! According to my progress tracker I'm only supposed to have 449 cals on a fast day! Maybe I'm just feeling extra negative cuz I'm hungry and shaky! I'm gunna have my microwave meal now and just get an early night... I hope that still counts lol x
Oh I'm also not familiar with Hungry girl apart from being one at the min lol. That must be an American thing? Xx
Yes, it is an American thing! Here's the link: http://www.hungry-girl.com/

But, the point is that you need to eat more protein/veggies, less carbs/sugar!

There's some posts on here with recipe ideas, as well as the ones in the Fast Diet book. There's also some other Fast Diet recipe books that you might want to check out!
I use egg beaters (which are basically egg whites.) 1/2 cup is 60 calories. I use Boar's Head ham and 1 oz, (or 2 slices) is 30 calories. Add in the laughing cow cheese for 35 calories and it's 125 calories. Still leaves me 375 cals for dinner. But, that's just what I do. You can find what works for you. Maybe some yogurt with fruit or something.
Thank you! That's my bed time reading sorted then :) yes I definitely need to get away from those carbs on fast days! Although they don't seem to affect me badly on regular days? In the sense I don't struggle to lose weight by eating carbs normally on regular days. Might have to try avoiding them more in general n see how I go x
I don't really avoid them on non-fast days. I try to eat protein with every meal and eat more complex carbs. But, I still eat refined carbs and sugar (probably too much!)

Good luck!!
This is the difficult part of the day for me, 90 mins till dinner time, and starting to get properly hungry.
So far today 20 cals in the form of 1 Werther's Sugar free and a mug of Chicken Bovril.
I decided on Prawn salad for dinner which will give me a huge bowl of mixed salald, some low cal dressing and as many prawns as I can afford, and still leave enough for a 99 cal dessert and a low cal Hot Choc
Doodle wrote: @cblasz I'm a teacher too and always have my fasts when teaching by saving all my calories for an evening meal. In fact, because of that, I'm finding this week quite difficult as it's the half term holiday in the UK now!

I'm in today, and hope today gets better - some days are just 'ugh', don't you think?! Fasting is the least of my worries.

Me too doodle!!!! Waited till today as i'm back at school...... Going ok so far.
Hope the fasting is going ok rayjanie. Just to say..I do the same with my jelly, I stash it right at the back with a bag of salad tactfully placed in front. If I'm lucky it will still be there when I want it.

Hi Chook - How did you find your first back to back fasting day?

I am doing my first back to back today having already fasted yesterday and strangely feel better today compared to how I felt yesterday?!

I found it remarkably easy, easier than doing split fast days. I think the main challenge is then not to overeat on the other five days. So far, so good.
