I started 5:2 with the intention of only having 1 meal a day with a milk allowance for my cups of tea. It was easy enough as I started already not having breakfast, missing lunch as well was easy.

I have now dropped the evening meal as well. I just have tea and water through the day. If I feel extra cold or am exercising I have a mug of boullion to warm me up and give me some salt. The reason for dropping the evening meal was that my hunger switch was triggered as soon as I ate in the evening and I 'starved' the rest of the night. So I've now dropped all food for a fast. I don't break my fast till lunch time the day after.
I'm in today too (tho most of you are done with your day already, and I'm just starting!) :)

i'm the same, Julie... liquids only for the day, otherwise I'm crazy hungry. 40 hours of fasting each "session" has broken my plateau finally. lets hope it stays moving in the right direction. I bought myself a pretty green dress to wear at christmas. it's a wee bit snug, so I'm hoping it fits perfectly by then. (incentive!)
I have been dabbling a bit and today is my first official fast. So far so good!
Welcome to the forum Sriraw! Drink plenty of water and other no-cal fluids and you'll be fine. Good luck! :)
Hi Curlyshar and angie090465, I find that as soon as I eat I trigger my metabolism, therefore I am hungrier. So if I had 100cals at 8am I would be ravenous by 9am. By not eating until teatime I do not usually (not always) get really hungry until early afternoon, then i just have a few hours to wait until dinner time. I find a satisfying meal at 5pm gets me through. Everyone is different though- I've returned to 5:2 after a stint with Slimming World which saw me gain 5lb despite sticking to the plan. I am really hungry right now, but figure, it is bedtime soon and tomorrow I can eat as much as I like!
I really admire those who exercise on fast days- I can't bring myself to do much else than walk the pooch. :0)
Hey everyone,

So it was my first fast today and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Managed to go until 5 without eating and that was just a small piece of dark chocolate. Had my dinner at 7 and after that the hunger pangs hit me. Feeling fine now though. Looking forward to a normal day tomorrow. Food tomorrow is going to taste 100x better than normal!
