I'm fasting today...my first fast since 23rd December...ate too much food over Christmas and New Year...and my body is saying give me a rest...only thing is I'm having visitors from Scotland arriving on Friday...so I will be struggling to fit in 2 fast each week...because I'm sure we will be doing a lot of wining and dining over the next three weeks ;)
Yes yes yes, I'm in and can't wait! I'm about to explode with Christmas food!
Hi Jem Ill join you. I felt much better after fasting Monday but managed to eat heaps the last two days so need this one to start to get on track again. Enjoy your visitors and don't stress the fasting, I find it impossible to do when we have people here.
hi Thursday fasters, yes, I'm in too! I'm going to try my first HIIT on my crosstrainer in a moment, wish me luck!! Then planning lots of decaf green tea with pomegranate flavour and mineral water with lime flavour till my son comes round for dinner - small serve of a Jamie Oliver 15 min meal (love that book!!) - probably chicken tikka for dinner - heaps of veges! It's easy to have a small serve, since my 22 year old has recently moved out and I don't think he spends much time, money or energy on cooking, so he eats a huge portion (BMI 22, god love him, must have a tame tape worm!) when he's here, then takes the rest home for the next day!

Good luck to everyone fasting today!!
I will join you all thanks Jem, I felt great after my Fast day on Monday as well - I have even lost a few 100 grams already this week so I am keener than even.
Happy Fast Day everybody

cheers Maggie
Yes, yes, yes too!!!! Desperately needing this today as I was in the piggy basket, despite 16:8 every day.
Good luck Jools with the HIT, I am going to be trying it, albeit in a tiny camp room.
Good luck all!
Chuckling over the "tame tape worm" reference above :D

I'm fasting today, making up for some overindulgences between Christmas and New Year. No food for me until dinner time. I am enjoying my water. Very hot here today, would love a couple of rainy days in a row!
I'm in, first day back at work as well, so right back into routine.
:)
Morning everyone! Where are you, SoTellMe, where it's hot? It's not hot here. Windy and warm sitting inside in a sunny window. Yes, I'm in today and hope to keep busy. Had a hard time on Monday with too much time on my hands . So it's tidy and clean the house today, sort out some messy drawers, plan menus for the week, shopping. Now, I'm going for a walk. Have a good day everyone.
I'm fasting when I wake up, well I suppose officially I've already started tonight. At work 8am til 6pm so it will be easy to be busy. It will be my third fast since Christmas Day! I don't think I've lost anything though as I keep topping up on the normal days! Will be good to get back to a normal routine though. Good luck everybody.
Another one back at work today & consuming 600 max cal today for the first time since 23 Dec. I'm not going to call it fasting as I don't think you can consume 600 cal & be fasting.
I'm in today! Well, kind of...

My last fast was 19 December, so it's been two weeks out of routine. I haven't completely let go, I did manage a couple of 16:8 days and was pretty active over the past two weeks, but there was no time that I denied myself and so I'm feeling that the result on the scale this morning is all fair and reasonable.

I am craving the routine of my fasting days, but have a few more events to get through. I'm fasting until dinner today - a family celebration this evening, so will be going over 500 calories. Same again tomorrow.

My pre-Christmas plan was to finish fasting on 19 December and to hop on the scales 1 January and whatever weight registered would become my maintenance weight for 2014. Well, I hopped on the scales early this morning and it registered 69kg on the knocker - 2kg higher than pre-Christmas, but only 1kg higher than my target weight. So, 69kg it is. I'm officially in maintenance for the year ahead. I feel thrilled to have got here and so determined to do what I've never managed before - maintain, for the long term, at a weight that is healthy and makes me feel good.

Not sure what my maintenance will look like - I plan to play around with combinations of 5:2, 6:1, 16:8 until I find my tipping points. Thanks to all you lovely forum members I've got lots of advice on here I can draw on to find what works best for me long term. I'll be sharing how I go to hopefully help others as they embark on their maintenance journey too.

Good luck today fasting buddies. I must say, getting back into fasting after a break makes me remember how tough some if those early fast days were. Hang in there newbies - it gets easier and it DOES work!!
@Otter that's a great result. Good luck with maintaining although you won't need it as you know what your doing.
How is everyone's fast day going? All good here, the two hours of ironing have certainly helped keep me occupied
Well, had a go at the HIIT - managed 30 x 8 sec sprints/12 sec cruise for 10 mins overall - which is what they suggest for a newbie- wow! First 3 were a complete shock to the bod - after that it worked better - time flew by! Felt nauseous & wobbly afterwards for about half an hour, must be doing some good I guess!
Count me in today. First one for a week
