First up today, although I have woken up hungry which is a bad start. It is rainy and miserable but hopefully I can gird myself for the day ahead!
Morning Debs :) not me today although I wish I was.. I actually find them easier than feast days because I don't have to worry about my lunch calling me! Anyway, enough about me. Have a good one, enjoy.

Finding it tricky today and morning tea is calling. I was just reading Carorees' blog about doing 16:8 so if I am faint by lunchtime I may do that, she seems to be losing at a rate of knots on that!! If I do, only have to hold out til 12!
16:8 sounds too good to be true for me unfortunately :(

Debs I love the dingo pic you have there, we saw lots of them on our recent travels.

I'm in and happy to be here. If you've read my "sinking" read you'll know I've been struggling and this is my first fast in almost 2 weeks after many attempts and if I'm honest, some binge eating :(

BUT today is a new day, I can do this! Hang in there above posters!
Good luck Waratah you can DEFINITELY do this. You will feel so good come tomorrow morning and once you're back on track it will start to get easier.

Thanks Lil xx
Hi there Waratah,
Yes, I read and replied to your post as I've been there, wanting to eat everything not nailed down. sometimes it is best to get it out of your system though. By rights I should be stuffing myself silly as I'm stuck at home alone while my dearly beloved is working in Victoria for four weeks, but so far I have stuck with it and lost a kg last week so that is my inspiration. I've just had a dandelion tea and the hunger pangs have temporarily stopped.
There is a jar of peanut butter leering at me again but I am determined not to give in to his wiley ways!!
Yes, dingos are gorgeous and wrongly much maligned.
I'm fasting today too. So far, so good. :victory:

Waratah, I second LilSmiler's post - you can do this! I hear you about losing momentum as I have been there many times over the past few months. But you pick yourself up and try again - and you CAN succeed.

This week has been my pick-myself-back-up week, and even with hormone fluctuation, I have stayed on track, and feeling really good too.

Debs, I too read Carorees blog and was awed and inspired by her weight loss! I thought about the benefits of 16:8 and trying it for myself too... although 5:2 combined with 16:8 does seem like A LOT of fasting and I'm not sure how healthy that would be for me, personally. I need to lose weight but I really need to do it in a sustainable and maintainable way.

Where is the blog?

First fast for me this week. Up early here in UK as I have a stinking, rotten cold and nasty headache. First one of the season. Advice!
Had some cauliflower soup for lunch (recipe on this site) feel lovely & full, am actually getting through the day ok :)
I LOVE that soup!
My first Wednesday fast! I usually do Mondays and Thursday but going out for a big meal tomorrow night (as it's a public holiday the next day, otherwise I tend to stick to going out to the weekend).

Although I've been losing I think my TDEE for food days has been too low. I've been doing it at my target weight when I read I should be doing it at 80% of my current weight. 80% because I have a lot to lose. The difference is about 200 calories.
Hello lovely 5:2ers! Fast day for me too :) It's pretty chilly here in Berlin, looks like it might rain later, urgh.

I will echo one of the above comments and say that I actually find the fast days easier than the non-fast days! I know exactly what I can eat, and that's it. No, "oh, a small piece of cupcake won't hurt" which tends to happen a lot the other 5 days a week! Fortunately this WOE is still working despite the treats on the non-fast days - put a pair of jeans on which I bought at the beginning of summer, only to find they are ridiculously loose!

Wahoo! Stay strong today and remember how good you'll feel tomorrow :)
