Hello all
fasting today as well. Last fast was Sunday and previously I've found fasting with only one day inbetween very difficult. Not today though!
Been busy and outside all day (about 25C here)
Keeping all my food for tea time which is less than an hour away. Hotel buffet - please, please not pasta in tomato sauce again( 8 meals in a row and I don't do tomatoes) I find it quite difficult to guage when I'm not in charge of the cooking. We'll see how well, or badly I've done next a week on Sunday when the stats get done.
Peppermint tea to tide me over.
Good vibes to all fasting today

I was up at 7am,........cup of tea with splash of semi skimmed milk...........coffee with milk during a meeting at 11.30.......walked the dog for an hour, and now back at my desk with a pint of lightly diluted cordial.
No tiredness......no hunger........feel great !
Particularly as after 3 weeks of this, my clothes are fitting me better, and walking uphill was nowhere near as much of an effort !

They say No Pain - No Gain........but with 5:2, I havent found any pain at all !!

Willpower.................. :)

Well did 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast, went riding, just had soup made with vegs and added 1/2 pack of vlc noodles from Holland and Barratt, not sure about them really, they might go better in a hot Thai salad as they were a bit chewy.
Just about to go out on bike to warm myself up!!!

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Fasting today - the sixth time since starting 5:2 just over two weeks ago. Started doing Tues and Thursday but have now swapped to Mondays/Wednesday. Feeling really hungry today though. Got up at just after 6am and had a breakfast of a boiled egg and two breakfast biscuits - c. 190 calories at about 8am and have a ready meal measured at 300 calories for dinner tonight (about 8.30pm). This is pretty much the pattern we've (my husbands doing it too) adopted since we started. We've been really disappointed with weight loss so far, although haven't weighed myself yet this week. Am now continuing the fast until lunchtime the following day to try and maximise effects. We chose this plan because it seemed that on non fast days life was going to be much easier/more pleasant than on other diets without having to watch what we eat all the time. However, think that may have been overdoing it on 'feasting days' and will make more of an effort to curb the calories then too. Do like a few glasses of wine over the weekend though........ I've got about a stone to lose and my husband has about 2 stone. Going on holiday over Easter and was hoping to have been at least halfway there, but unlikely as although I lost 2lbs the first week only to regain them and then lose them again it seems like I'm only going to maintain and not lose anything at this rate!!

Second fast of the week for me as tomorrow I'm off for an eating craft and activity weekend at the Manor House Hotel in Devon :D

So far have shopped for animal feed to keep the menagerie fed over the weekend, done three loads of washing, a little bit of work and sent in some invoices so I may get paid soon!

Just had coffee, water and a cup of vegetable stock so far. Looking forward to baked salmon with stir fried veggies for tea soon.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Teresab1979 wrote: I'm doing my fifth fast today and for the first time it feels a bit daunting (well I felt daunted about the very first one but was amazed to find it was simple)... Does anyone else find that as soon as they eat they just want to eat more? I have found it better to just hang in there and have the 500 cals in the evening before bed. If I have something small 'to keep me going' it's like my body just goes 'Food time! Where's the rest?!'. So I think I'll stick to guzzling water 'til later. Hope everyone else has a good fast day. :)

I'm new to this, only on my third fast day but totally agree with Teresab1979, I had a few failed attempts at fast days at first because when I ate something it made me want to eat more so I had to sack it off as a 'fast' day and just made it a day of fairly restrained normal low fat eating of around 1500 calories.

I'm best eating nowt at all, all day and then can look forward to having an ample evening meal. I also like to think that by having nothing at all during the day I am fasting for longer and so hopefully might be getting more benefits.

The day has gone quite well with drinking black coffee, fruit tea, Bovril for lunch, water & I am having coffee with a splash of semi-skimmed milk as a treat before preparing supper. This will be tuna steak with a little chilli sauce, lots of stir fried veg & for my OH also sweet chilli basmati rice. I have saved calories for a bed time hot chocolate so all good so far. I have just started reading the 2 day diet to find out if it has any useful information but I don't fancy consecutive fasting days so I am sticking with 5:2.
Hope you fellow fasters have had a good day :D

Well here's a thing. I am one of the 'slow and steady ' brigade and have been losing a scant 1lb a month not counting a blip over christmas. Last week I put on a pound which I felt was due to a sluggish constitution if you know what I mean. This week I lost that lb again and a bit more. When I weighed myself yesterday after1st fast of the week I was 2lb down - this is fairly typical and most of it doesn't usually 'stick'. TODAY after an eating day yesterday I have dropped ANOTHER 3lb! What does that mean - am I having a fat cells emptying themselves of water episode?? I am not holding my breath as I have had too many disappointments in the past but it would be nice if some of it stayed off till next official weigh day. Fasting again today - who knows what tomorrow will bring!

I had better go and eat something more healthy before the chocolate takes over

Hi all
Today second fast day of the week for me , but I,m struggling today unfortunately ...... Just not motivated to stick to 500 cals for some reason . Usually do the 2 days with not too much bother and really pleased with the weight loss since I started this regime last Aug - especially when people comment on how much slimmer I,m looking and finding clothes are fitting so much better (even too big ) :D .
Have prob had around 700 cals so far ,so not quite a disaster by any means but not sure I can manage to not eat more tonight before bed . I will see how I feel , but may try fast day again on Friday or just start afresh next week . :(
Do any ladies sometimes feel that the willpower/ motivation affected by hormonal reasons e.g premenstrual or just coincidental ? Well done to you all managing to stick to the 500/600 cals today - keep going , it,s worth it !

Hi Nandoll

I do sometimes feel the motivation isn't there somedays. I'm probably hormonal today hence the chocolate consumption.
