Good luck, TML.

Over time, you might want to add some veggies in there or you might find you clog up a bit...veggie soup is good, lots of volume, not many cals.

Fasting today, 3rd fast of my new 4:3 regime. Interestingly, lot far more weight this week so the shake-up in routine has been good. I do think the Thur weigh-in was too low due to a bit of dehydration, so I'll need to manage Wed food and drink better but all good. I weigh about a kilo more today...so anyone worrying about fluctuations, don't as it's counter-productive.

Nearly at a stone off but it's being very elusive!
PinkLady, how are you getting on? I hope you have a good fasting day! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you
I often find Friday fasts harder than Monday fasts - maybe because I don't have brekkie on Fridays. So far (11.45) managed on two cups of coffee...CuppaSoup at 1 o'clock and lemon tea in the afternoon. Our prawn & spinach curry is already sounding VERY tempting! I'm really looking forward to it (but won't be eating it until 7 o'clock tonight.)
As usual I'm very cold, but I'm a bit headachy today as well.

Still, tomorrow is another day, and we've got friends coming for dinner so we'll be eating lots of food. Yay!
I'm fasting again today. Breakfast was a nectarine and a small slice of toast with Nutella (155 cals); lunch will be chicken satay with salad (200 cals). Supper, who knows?! I enjoy the challenge of finding tasty mini-meals.
Thank you!!!
I started with porridge since my stomach tends to dislike eating just fruit or veggies (or protein) without carbs so I went to the solution that has fewer calories and is filling. If I work out a recipe for veggie soup with rice or potatoes then I'll try it. I'm going for the 3 meals per day since my above-mentioned demanding stomach is protesting when it's empty for too long.
Nearly a stone? WOW!!! Congrats!!!
I could eat porridge too happily but lots of people have issues with the slow transit issue and it's best avoided!

Just add a handful of rice, pearl barley or lentils to your soup?? Basically, Marigold Vegetable Bouillon plus whatever veg plus whatever carb to make a pretty good soup.

I need to get off this sofa and follow my own good advice, I hear the Hairy Dieters dahl is good...

Yeah, well pleased. I eat very well on feed days so it's been a slow loss but mentally so much easier as control (ish - see post about custard tarts and 4 x choccie mousses) is coming with time.
What's the slow transit issue?
Yes but will two portions of soup be 300 cals the most? Cause I'm going for 150 cals lunch, 150 cals dinner, 70 cals breaky and I have 70 cals left in case I feel hungry at some point...
You'll need to weigh the ingredients and then work out the cals as each creation will be different.

Slow transit is the posh way of saying you'll end up constipated!

I try for 150 cals lunch and 3/400 for supper (and ignore my sugar-free cocoa after 9pm) but I don't calorie count strictly so I'm not a good role model.
Fasting today will be a challenge for me - will be at home most of the time which usually can lead to a lot of snacking. Trying a new strategy today ..having egg whites for breakfast to start with high protein hit, which I heard works to stave off appetite. Late evening is another danger zone though and I continue to struggle with cravings. oh well, one hour at a time...
He he! I find that oats make my transit faster than usual, LOL!
Surprisingly, staying at home makes it easier for me. It's being outside that makes me hungry and craving for pretty much everything!!!

Thanks, that's so nice of you to ask!

I'm doing well, not eaten yet! Just heading into town to get my new mattress plus popping into Holland and barretts for my low cal food! My tea is planned!

Nume soup from morrisons, half a tin :sleepy: as a sauce, low cal noodles, lotsa veg and some meat. My 5:2 book arrived today and my mums now interested in starting 5:2 aswell, she's gotta read the book first though I think for further inspiration
enjoy your fasts...it is a non fast day for me today as my next one won't be until Monday - sort of miss fasting lol !
Fast number 9 today! - Doesn't time fly!

So far I've had a glass of water, a cup of tea and then a berocca to make sure that I'm still getting my vitamins today (also makes a reasonable drink when added to hot water and is only 5 calories).

The countdown to dinner has very much begun!! 4 hours to go... my stomach is really rumbly today, probably the most it's been so far.

Very much looking forward to a sainsburys love soya 'chicken' kiev with a few home made potato wedges and some broccoli later!! mmmmmmmm :)

Same here! Freezing cold & fasting today. Sure could use some of that global warming about now. It's been more like the ice age in this part of the world lately. Woke to a snow covered ground again and temps in the 20's!
Today is my fourth fast day, and I'm feeling great! Work is just dragging by, at the moment, and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend. I definitely feel hungrier when I'm not busy. :)

My DH and I will be shopping for a new stove and refrigerator tomorrow, and are hoping to have supper with his folks. Sunday, we'll be celebrating my parent's 38th wedding anniversary at a nice Lebanese restaurant. I'm so grateful that a bit of hunger today means being able to be fully present and enjoy all of the good things this weekend has to offer. I won't be sitting at my in-laws dining room table trying to figure out just how much butter my MIL put in the mashed potatoes, while only half-listening to the conversation. Happy Friday, all.
