Well I skipped breakfast which is something I rarely do even on fast days. I'm not particularly hungry now either - surprising as it's lunch time. I'm thinking today might be a good day to experiment with having nothing except fluids till the evening and see how that feels. I'm nervous though - scared I'll get a hypoglycaemic attack when I'm out walking this afternoon. Silly I know but I've had some very nasty attacks of that. Wish me luck guys!
Hello Esmeralda
I don't eat until evening- just loads of fluids. I used to be terrible with sugar dips etc before eating this way, and I can honestly say there has been not a one! I'm amazed because it affected me so badly that those close to me knew the warning signs and intervened. Now, no hassle, so hopefully you'll be fine. Maybe take a wee snackette with you as a comfort/emergency back up.
This is my second ever fast day and, of course, second for the week. I find it the same as the first fast day which was pretty uneventful. I'm hoping they will all be as easy. :)
I'm in today, too. I was much too feast-y yesterday, so I'm looking forward to today's required restraint. Cheers to all.
If the theory goes you get a sugar high, then a low as the body is flooded with insulin, then the stability of nothing to eat at all might indicate less problems with hypoglycemia??

No expert, happy to be corrected.

I'm normally a small lunch person but having ate a lot yesterday and having been busy, not had lunch today. Going to have a cup of tea now and then chilli at 5 pm. It's half-veggie and half-meat and smells good.
Both of us in today. First time for 4:3 for hubby. Harder for him.
Hi guys - I am fasting today with OH and son. I made it to 3pm on just coffee and then had a clementine before having "Mexican" pizza and salad at about 3.45pm. Still have some calories left for later so really pleased with that. I have definitely found this WOE has got easier and each time I have fasted recently I have been able to push back the start of eating.... Hopefully that will mean get more benefits longer term.

I am off this week with the kids - not exercised yet today as such but have spent 2-3 hours sorting out mine and my daughter's bedroom.
Hi to the group.
I am new here but have been on a 4:3 for about a week and know that I can stay on it. I love this group and the support it provides.
I'm in the US, 68 y/o male and have determines my TDEE. So on fasting days I usually consume around 500 calories and try to make good choices on the feast days.
Has anyone had experience with high fat vs low fat on feast days?
Thanks again to all and good luck and good health.
Truman
Going for 4:3 this week as have a big anniversary dinner planned for tomorrow :)
Only had fruit tea and a couple of rice cakes so far.
Dinner in 3 hours!
I've ended up in today too. I was hungry when I got up so I thought I might only manage a mini fast up to about 2pm but life took over and I realised it was time for the family to come in and I hadn't eaten so I've decided I can hold out for the day now.

Might manage a 4:3 this week now but at least I will have two fasts under my belt if the rest of the week goes to pot!
I'm in...I was waffling whether to fast today or tomorrow. Woke up late today and will be busy later on so decided to go for it as it should be fairly easy.
It feels very freeing to be fasting. I love the fact that tomorrow I can eat what I want, and just for today I don't have to think about what to pack for lunch, should I have a snack or not, will this food cause me to gain weight.
Hi all, thanks for the supportive comments. Well I lasted it out till 6pm having nothing but fluids (mostly black coffee). I am amazed that I hardly felt hungry at all until just before I ate my tea. It was great just to give my body a rest - I actually felt really good! I'm going to fast tomorrow as well and I've never done two in a row before so that'll be a bit of a challenge. I'm learning so much about myself and how my body works it's fantastic!
Hello and welcome mini-bush. Yes it is quite freeing. I tend to still take something like strawberries as a snack in case I get the munchies...

Speaking of which - that's what I decided to have for tea today. Strawberries, banana, raspberries and light squirty cream...
Well I've managed to distract myself from being very hungry all day! At one point I wanted to eat the house but came on here instead. I'm still waiting to eat until my partner gets home at about half 8, but glad to say after feeling starving all day the hunger has passed :)
