I am fasting today. This is my first fast day, and I have only just joined the forum.
I had a yoghurt for breakfast and for lunch I am having a sweetcorn soup. I was hoping to have couscous with peas and mushrooms for dinner but I am not sure how much dry couscous to use to make one portion and how many calories it will be.
Hi all!

That's me fasting today too - and boy do I need it after yesterday! Had a work Awayday and it seemed to revolve round food!

Bad news was that the pastries were VERY good. And the bacon rolls. Also dinner didn't finish till 2145 - well past my normal time for starting the fast.

Good news was that there was a lot of moving around, I actually found the portion sizes TOO BIG at dinner and didn't eat it all and, despite not having the car, my total alcohol consumption was 1 Pimms, 1 bottle of cider and half a glass of rose wine.

Feeling hungrier than usual (always do when I drink alcohol) but am determined to ignore that. Chicken in the slow cooker to have with veg for tea...

Good luck everybody!
Hello AlixB and welcome. Hope your first fast day is going ok.
On MyFitnessPal, Tesco couscous 50g as sold is 135cal. Hope that helps :)

I am fasting today too - usually Mon and Wed/Thurs, but with school holidays, this week has turned into Wednesday and today! Doing my usual water and green tea only until evening meal - so far so good!

Good luck!
OH and I are in. 4:3 for me!
Me too. Doing 3rd fast this week as yesterday I ate far too much. Just had cup a soup for lunch - roll on tea

Hello Doodle, and thank you. Sorry to seem a bit stupid but is that 50g dry couscous?
Hello co-fasters!
Another fast day for me. I just had my lunch (porridge and a little lettuce) and I feel sooooo full. I love it!!!
Hello fellow Friday Fasters, I am also fasting today. Got off to a good start with a slice of ham for breakfast and again for lunch (only my second fast so I'm not ready to wait until dinner for my first meal). My stomach is making the most amazing noises - sounds like an orchestra sometimes!! Drinking plenty of water to keep my mind off food!

I've been off work the last two weeks and found that as long as I keep myself busy, I'm ok! I also made sure that I have lots of very low-calorie bits in the cupboard, i.e. stock cubes, no added sugar jelly etc. That's really helped. X

No problem - I'm only reading it off the app!
It says as sold so I guess that's dry.
It also states 100g cooked couscous is 112cal

Enjoy!
If it says "as sold" then it has to be dry.
Hi Friday fasters! I think this is my 6th fast. I am finding it gets easier the more I do - although I'm not seeing a decline on the scales - I lose 2-3 lb and then it goes back on - quite frustrating. I've worked out my TDEE today though and will try to keep to that on feed days - I think I am too relaxed generally and go over. Today I have eaten a prawn salad lunch and will have home made bolognese for dinner with zero noodles - not tried them yet so hope they aren't too awful!
I'm in! Having a harder time today - perhaps it's because my children seem to be all about food today. Daughter keeps reading cookbooks and telling me about all the chocolate cakes she wants to bake. I'm trying especially hard to not mention or make a big deal about my fasting around my all-under-ten children, but I suspect the oldest has noticed. I just tell her that I'm trying to get healthier

:clover: everyone! We can do this!

When the kids see me fasting I tell them that Mommy has made bad food and health choices over the years so she has to make it better and get healthier. I tell them that as long as they stay healthy and eat well 'most' of the time, that it will never be something they have to worry about! :)
Hello Fellow Fasters!
I'm on my 8th week (I think) of fasting. I've not seen a huge weight loss - because I don't do enough exercise! - but I have seen a difference in some of my clothes which fit better (or fit worse, as they are too baggy!)

I've had drinks and a CuppaSoup today - and a big lump of sugar free gum when my mouth just wanted to CHEW something! Mushroom stroganoff, broccoli and 25g dry rice for dinner. I'd really love a glass of wine- it's been a hard day - but I'm not going to give in!
