Esmecat, who said that eating normally doesn't mean to pay attention of what you're eating and how much?
Unless in your book "eating normally" means "eating whatever is in front of me" so in that case you might want to use the word "sensibly" instead of "normally". :-)
Hello fellow fasters (:

I am stuck inside despite the sunshine, having to edit lots of writing to be handed in on Friday. Hopefully it'll keep me busy until dinner! Had a lie-in which was wonderful and eliminated a lot of hungry hours.
Hello All,
I am so glad to be fasting today after 5 days of eating "normally" due to guests being at home. I usually do ADF or 4:3 when life gets in the way so 5 days of "normal" eating (plus a few extra treats ) has made me feel like a ton weight. Today has been my easiest fasting day ever because I have a dodgy stomach so really do not want to eat anything!
Hope everyone's fast goes smoothly today :)
TML13, that's what I was doing but if you read Sunday's Mail on Sunday, which you probably can't in Greece, Mimi says fast all day!
Going well so far have just had water although am starting to get a bit rumbly and about to spend the afternoon studying which always makes me wanna eat!
Today is my first fast day and so far so good. Outside typing on my laptop as it is a beautiful sunny day - ice tea made with green tea is my drink of choice at this particular time. Had my carrot salad for lunch - absolutely yummy. Looking forward to BBQ chicken tonight with salad leaves. :like:
Ridingwood, I could read the Mail if I wanted do (we do get newspapers in Greece, LOL) but it's a newspaper that I don't read.
I don't know what Mimi said, I choose to learn everything I need about 5:2 from this forum.
There are many ways to do 5:2 but if you want to do what Mimi does it's entirely up to you. This is the greatest thing about all this, it is made to suit you and not the other way around.
I'm fasting today too. Struggling now as I'm tired (my daughter initially woke me at 2, then my son woke me eevery 1/2 hour from2.30 - 4.30am, the joys) Normally on these days I can snack all day so it's a good job I'm fasting. Shouldn't have had the teeny tiny piece of cucumber as I now have a major rumble in my tummy, better get drinking somewater to con it!
I have planned my evening meal though too, so my mouth was watering at that, as I've only had about 50 cals so far today. Going to need a lot of will power today...
Hi everyone

This is my first post. I've been doing the diet for 4 weeks and have lost 4lbs, I was a bit disappointed to find that I had lost nothing this last week, but am determined to carry on regardless. My clothes are feeling much looser so I'm sure it's working!

I've been tending to stick to ready made foods that are easy to calorie count, I had a chicken salad from M & S for lunch and it was only 100 calories. I've had a couple of black teas and plenty of water. I've got a ready meal for dinner at 269 cals and will use the rest up on fruit (which I weigh).

Do you think it's easier to cook rather than buy, it's just me at home.
Hi Hev :) Don't worry about not having lost anything last week, it's quite normal to have a maintain or even a small regain in the early stages as the water/fat loss balances out a bit. You may have lost some water weight initially, then lost some fat but regained some water - hence, staying the same. Before long it will be predominantly fat you are losing and you shouldn't have so many ups & downs on the scales :)

Personally I like to cook, so I can avoid all the additives etc. I tend to do a big batch and measure it out into calorie counted portions, so the meals are nice and easy on my fast days :) Or I just do a nice quick salad. You should do whatever you find works for you though, so if you prefer just to buy something in for ease that's absolutely fine - remember you can always bulk things out with a nice bag of microwave steamed veg!
I'm in. Today is my hardest fast of the week. Thankfully I'm halfway through and zero calories consumed :)
I'm back fasting today after 4 days "off". Today may not have been the best day to fast - I had to go to a meeting where I knew we would be talking about terminating my job. Very stressful - especially during lunchtime! I brushed my teeth well before my meeting so I wouldn't have stinky breath but I was finding it a little hard to concentrate, or to remember what had happened in the meeting when I was giving DH the debrief. But oh well - it's over now and I'm going to continue fasting today and enjoy tomorrow.

I am dreading weighing in tomorrow morning however - although I haven't had any binges or blowouts in my feed days, and I have done at least a half hour's exercise every single day, my clothes just don't feel like I've lost anything. It will be my second weigh-in since starting up again, and my first weigh-in showed a dramatic 2.7 kg lost. I know I can't lose that much every week, but I would be very depressed if I gained any of it back. I have read the posts on gaining even when I've been "good" and I may go back and read them again and hope they console me.

Good luck everyone.
Hello all. I'm fasting today too. Went to the gym this morning after dropping my daughter off at school and managed to workout (cardio and weights) without any food. In fact, I felt incredibly energetic. I always exercise fasted and even do it that way on non-fast days.

Then I worked right through "lunch" (so much more productive on fast days) and will soon be picking my girl up from school and take her to gymnastics. Then her dinner and bed routine then the husband will return home, so I will be busy until my "break fast" time around 9pm.

I'm in maintenance mode (6:1) now and was planning a fast on Thursday but old habits die hard and couldn't resist a fast today too. Meribel - I'll be joining you on Thursday's 36 hour fast.

Have had nothing but water so far but feel absolutely fine.
Fasting today, but feeling a bit disheartened as I am really struggling to maintain a healthy balance on my feed days. I ate so much cake over the last few days. None of my clothes are looser and I am feeling fat.
It's my own fault which doesn't help.
So far I have had some carrot soup and two oat cakes and planning on an egg white omelette for dinner. I am hungry though, but not fussed about it just wish I could recapture the feeling that this is going to work for me :frown:
Mummubunny, was everything OK with your meeting?
