Unless in your book "eating normally" means "eating whatever is in front of me" so in that case you might want to use the word "sensibly" instead of "normally".

Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.

I am stuck inside despite the sunshine, having to edit lots of writing to be handed in on Friday. Hopefully it'll keep me busy until dinner! Had a lie-in which was wonderful and eliminated a lot of hungry hours.
I am so glad to be fasting today after 5 days of eating "normally" due to guests being at home. I usually do ADF or 4:3 when life gets in the way so 5 days of "normal" eating (plus a few extra treats ) has made me feel like a ton weight. Today has been my easiest fasting day ever because I have a dodgy stomach so really do not want to eat anything!
Hope everyone's fast goes smoothly today
I don't know what Mimi said, I choose to learn everything I need about 5:2 from this forum.
There are many ways to do 5:2 but if you want to do what Mimi does it's entirely up to you. This is the greatest thing about all this, it is made to suit you and not the other way around.
I have planned my evening meal though too, so my mouth was watering at that, as I've only had about 50 cals so far today. Going to need a lot of will power today...
This is my first post. I've been doing the diet for 4 weeks and have lost 4lbs, I was a bit disappointed to find that I had lost nothing this last week, but am determined to carry on regardless. My clothes are feeling much looser so I'm sure it's working!
I've been tending to stick to ready made foods that are easy to calorie count, I had a chicken salad from M & S for lunch and it was only 100 calories. I've had a couple of black teas and plenty of water. I've got a ready meal for dinner at 269 cals and will use the rest up on fruit (which I weigh).
Do you think it's easier to cook rather than buy, it's just me at home.
Personally I like to cook, so I can avoid all the additives etc. I tend to do a big batch and measure it out into calorie counted portions, so the meals are nice and easy on my fast days Or I just do a nice quick salad. You should do whatever you find works for you though, so if you prefer just to buy something in for ease that's absolutely fine - remember you can always bulk things out with a nice bag of microwave steamed veg!
I am dreading weighing in tomorrow morning however - although I haven't had any binges or blowouts in my feed days, and I have done at least a half hour's exercise every single day, my clothes just don't feel like I've lost anything. It will be my second weigh-in since starting up again, and my first weigh-in showed a dramatic 2.7 kg lost. I know I can't lose that much every week, but I would be very depressed if I gained any of it back. I have read the posts on gaining even when I've been "good" and I may go back and read them again and hope they console me.
Good luck everyone.
Then I worked right through "lunch" (so much more productive on fast days) and will soon be picking my girl up from school and take her to gymnastics. Then her dinner and bed routine then the husband will return home, so I will be busy until my "break fast" time around 9pm.
I'm in maintenance mode (6:1) now and was planning a fast on Thursday but old habits die hard and couldn't resist a fast today too. Meribel - I'll be joining you on Thursday's 36 hour fast.
Have had nothing but water so far but feel absolutely fine.
It's my own fault which doesn't help.
So far I have had some carrot soup and two oat cakes and planning on an egg white omelette for dinner. I am hungry though, but not fussed about it just wish I could recapture the feeling that this is going to work for me
