I wouldn't try anything that is going to feel harsh while sleep deprived jmousey. Maybe just take a breather, and start again next week? Sleep deprivation is already hard, when you're feeling depressed it's even worse. Remember that 5:2 is longterm. Short term stuff ups are to be expected.

Try not to beat yourself up about it, instead, give yourself permission to not fast and instead get as much sleep as you can and maybe even pamper yourself a bit. Next week, you can fast.
jmousey - get over the jet lag first - your body's confused enough as it is - which I know is a good thing when it comes to eating, but if you're down about it then give yourself a few more days ..... you've done it before and can obviously do it again so don't panic! You've got a healthy BMI so be a bit kinder to yourself, would be my opinion/advice. I second KataMac's post - it's good advice.
Rather quite this week; I am in for my usual Thursday fast. After Monday's fast I am back on track

jmousey - I would let your body decide what best for you. I find after long flights, jet lag tends to hit me on the third day after the flight. The day after the flight I have lots of energy and tend to be a bit hyper; so fasting on that day would help me but everyones different.

Well off to work soon

Good luck to those fasting today.
I'm in today. Had a good nourishing day yesterday, but drank too much last night, which rather undermined my healthy day. Never mind, lots to do today, so will keep busy, drink lots of water, and get body and soul ready for the weekend.
I'm fasting Friday this week, so just had my dinner (6:30pm here) and will eat again Saturday breakfast. Got a busy day tomorrow, so hopefully it will just zoom past without me thinking about food. I always find it amusing how on fast days I mostly don't miss food but on non fast days, I'm always peckish mid morning and mid arvo and meal times.
I've successfully cooked dinner for the boys, and made 2 dozen cakes for school tomorrow, and cleared it all up, so v. pleased with myself. Having a low cal bitter lemon to celebrate ! I'm feeling very energetic suddenly, so need to find a job for tonight - probably some sewing, or knitting.
I'm in today. Kept busy at work today but my stomach was growling like mad this afternoon, not hungry though. Just going to put the oven on to make tea for the family and then clean my daughter's room.
Good luck 36ers today - especially Minum and and wildmissus and others who are cooking for their families - hope it goes well for you. I'm a bit out of sync this week (due to abandonment and affair with Toblerone bar on Monday) so am fasting Wed and Fri this week - back on Mon/Thurs with you all next week. Good luck, hope the day is kind to you x
Cycling around town doing errands roundabout lunchtime is not recommended on a fast day - all those smells, wafting out of cafes and restaurants... mmmmm. But I'd already knocked Thurs fast onto Fri, so making the decision not to have lunch and keep going means I don't have to contemplate a weekend fast. And of course, now I'm home, just had a rooibos tea and happy I didn't give in to the temptation. :)
Going to throw in a half fast/maybe full fast depending on how I feel today, scales show I'm 1lb down but that's not going to be sustained until Monday unless I do a bit more, have definitely been over eating this week! But the food has been delicious so not really complaining! Busy weekend too with my mum visiting and Father's Day on Sunday to celebrate with food! Weekend is nearly here! :0)
Feeling great this morning after an easy fast yesterday. Will have breakfast when I get into work, then out for a Chinese tonight. Wearing a new (charity shop) size 12 dress today which I'm loving. I've had another PB on the scales this morning, I'll do a half fast tomorrow as I want to keep this up.

Good luck Mariposa and everyone else casting today.
Well done on the PB on the scales, always very motivating to keep you on track, even more so on the size 12 dress! Wear it with pride!
Another two successful liquid fasts done but blimey, what do I have do to to lose weight - 6 weeks and no weight change. I really don't think I'm overeating on non-fast days but neither am I calorie counting, nor do I want to. I suppose the Scottish word for how I feel is 'scunerred' (fed up/p***ed off) but I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing as it's not just about weight loss.
Wildmissuss, I just got off my plateau by upping my activity levels (thanks to the NEAT thread). I set my alarm for 25 min whenever I'm working (on computer - although I do have a standing desk which makes me more dynamic) and then throw in a brief period of activity - squats or a walk down the back to feed the chooks or make a cup of tea, then back into work. Funnily enough I think I'm easily as productive, if not more so. This plus a pedometer to get my 10,000 steps a day, seems to have got the weight going down again, and another cm gone from my waist.
Fast didn't quite happen today! At lunch time I had to walk a kid to the canteen to get his lunch and accidentally got myself veggie burger, chips and beans! I then had a slice of apple pie with custard as in for a penny and all that! Not bothered really as have done my two fasts this week. Not sure I will have lost anything by Monday though, but time will tell!
