Iam back from work, everything going well so far hope its the same for everyone.
C & C I hope you do lose 0.5 lb this week but remember the scales will only tell you the weight now. I weigh daily and find my weight varies by plus and minus 3lbs during the week. So you may have lost on average a pound but weigh on a day when your weight is at the top of the range; which would show as a increase in weight to you.
I feel you need to weigh daily or weigh every few months.
Anyway Iam off to do some packing and planing our long birthday weekend break. The weather forecast is looking good
I will be back fasting on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Hopefully I will lose the few pounds I am bound to put on.
Well yesterday was another fail! I seem to be doing a 16:8 week though looking on the bright side! Have actually woken up in a fasting frame of mind today so going to take advantage and actually do a fast and stick to it! Baby slept much better last night and i went to bed at 9, so think thats helped too. That'll just be one this week, but hopefully will get me back in the swing again! Good luck all Thursday fasters :0)
Good luck today Mariposa - you can do it :clover:
Hello all,

2nd fast of week 3 for me today. One of last week's fasts ended up being liquid only due to travelling all day and I enjoyed it so doing another one this week - went out for a celebration meal last night and was definitely over TDEE (although didn't stuff myself at all which is an achievement!) so feel like it's necessary!

Good luck to everyone fasting today!
Mariposa, hope you are successful today.

I'm in today but I feel really grotty with sinus pain and don't feel like eating anything anyway.
Thank you everyone! Finally I'm achieving in my fast! Even managed to go to the canteen and not feel tempted! Weirdly my boss who is also doing 5:2 said she's failed all week, so maybe the crazy kids at school are making fasting harder along with tiredness! So relieved to feel back in control though as was beginning to panic that this was going to be the end of fasting! Back on track and thoughts of hunger have gone! Now to feed the kids their tea!
I did it! Now putting my blip behind me, scales are heading downwards again and I'm hoping the 16:8 I've accidentally done through the week will get me back on track, might even carry on with that until Monday, although not sure if I should attempt it after a 36hr fast as will make my fast too long I think, inset day today so work will be stress free too! Feeling so much more positive! Hope all went well for everyone else, nice sunny weekend to look forward to! Happy Friday all :0)
I'm having my third fast today. Yesterday I went a bit over my TDEE, so had been looking forward to fasting today, but now it turns out I'm going out with friends, so I'm considering whether to make today an ordinary 500 kcal of food day instead of my usual liquid fast.

Mariposa, well done on achieving your fast
I firmly believe we should allow ourselves a break when needed, hence my own little party yesterday. That's what makes this way of eating sustainable!
Hi everyone :) I've been AWOL for about a week. I was away and had a lot of stress trying to find accommodation in Manchester for when we go back on the 20th. Happy to say that is all sorted now :)

I managed my first liquid fast yesterday after a week of quite heavy eating. It was all in 16:8 though and I'm happy and suprised to say I'm still at goal weight this morning.

I think I will do one more liquid one before Ramadan and then see how it goes from there.

I hope everyone is doing well and good luck to those fasting today. I'm off to have a browse now and catch up after not being on the forum. I've missed it :)
Thank you glassmarble, think I was wobbling because it was the first week I've not managed it since starting in January so my brain was over thinking! You're right though I'm not going to stop fasting because of one blip! Welcome back umleila, glad to hear things are still on track! Good luck next week
Thanks Mariposa. Yes, I think it's best one day or fast at a time. Just because one day doesn't go to plan doesn't mean the next is a write off. Onwards and downwards :)

I sometimes start my 16:8 at ten rather than 12:00 on a day after a fast. I still get to eat until 6 which is more like my usual tea time and it doesn't stretch out the LF for too long.
My last liquid fast of the week this week and my last fast before Ramadan begins on Tuesday. Good luck to everyone else fasting today :)
I wonder if you will find Ramadan different this year, after getting used to the different fasting pattern of 5:2?

It's silly, because I'm not a Muslim, but I always get excited about Ramadan because there's so much great candy in the stores. They got a huge pallet of nougat in the grocery store today, and I hope that soon they will have pistachio Turkish delight wrapped in apricot fruit leather, which is the best. Very un-pious of me, sorry.
No need to be sorry :) I love Ramadan sweets too. I think 5:2 will have an effect this year. In fact the no eating will be a lot easier. It's the no liquids that are the hard part but I'm planning on keeping myself as hydrated as possible during the hours I can :)
