@john
There are more experienced members here who can be more precise with answers to your question. However, here is my attempt to help :)

The 600 calories for males is a rough guide. The figure should ideally be 1/4 of your TDEE. As for exceeding the 600 and its effects, it depends on your TDEE. If you were more active, exceeding the 600 calories would probably not make much difference. If more sedentary it might.

To a large extent, if it is a one off, don't stress and make it up later. If it is constant, it may be an issue. But by and large, you are still restricting your calories and you should still see weight loss.

The timing of the meals is up to you as long as you stick to the caloric restriction. For myself, I save all the 600 calories for one meal over a 36 hour period as I find it easier. Do whatever works best for your circumstances
@madmois : funny thing is I didn't feel that spring until today. :)

Have fun on the weekend. Wish mine started tomorrow :)
I fasting with you today, second fast of the week.
@ John, it doesnt make much difference. Do whatever suits you. I have gone over by a few.
I'm fasting today too.
I'm in too. Don't really feel in the right mood, but my SiL is arriving tmw for a week, so I need a bit of preemptive (sp?) action...
Good luck everyone. :clover:

Welcome @johnconwy! Lots of info on other threads, so have a good look round.many people start by having slightly over 600, with three meals, then adjust to what suits them.
I'm in today too! it's only 10am here and I'm struggling already. Am currently making a mental list of all the things I need to do today to keep me busy.

Same here Golarne - my cousin arrives tomorrow for a weekend of, no doubt, excessive eating and drinking! need to have a good one today to negate the probable effects!
My second fast of the week too. I would normally do Mon and Thurs but I have social plans tomorrow so have switched. Unfortunately, my children are off sick from school today, and are having toast for breakfast - that's a killer smell! I've hidden out in another room with a green tea and lemon while salivating. :starving:

Got to do it today as we are away for a long weekend.
I'm in today for my second and final fast day of the week due to the long holiday weekend and a slew of pending social events. I need to make it a good one after my feast day meal at a Japanese steakhouse and the ice cream my mom brought out for dessert! Today's menu is taco soup and a dinner salad. Godspeed fasting friends!
This is my second fast day of the week and boy do I need it! I haven't been overindulging and I've been active, but I am soooo bloated. I have decided after looking at every possible cause that I have simply not been drinking enough, so today I aim to put that right.

Have a great day fellow fasters :)
It's our 2 fast day for the week as well.

So far so good. Definitely feeling good about myself today, just a bit tired. Started to sleep well on nights following the fast but very bad on the nights between. Gonna keep and eye on it.

It's all a learning curve really, just finding out what works for you
I am fasting today as well, hoping not to get a headache, i keep getting a banging migraine on some fast days. Last one was Monday and had a banging headache from the afternoon on fast day to the following late morning. I drink lots of water and herbal tea all day while fasting but does not stop the headache :(
I'm in today, not sure if I'm doing a liquid fast or if I will eat dinner tonight, it will depend on how I'm feeling after my workout in the pool. This will be my second fast of the week.
I'm in too today. 2nd fast of the week. Usually do Mon/Thurs but am out tomorrow for lunch and wine!

Tonight I'm having spinach, chick peas, red onion, red pepper. red chilli, tomato, goats cheese in a lemon juice/olive oil dressing yummy! Have just had green tea with mint and one banana today so looking forward to my dinner later. Little things eh? Lol
I'm here doing the M/W thing this week as we're off for a long holiday weekend. The longer I do this (3rd month in) I really do prefer M/Th I think.

It's all about what works for you and that is what I love about this WoE! Mon to Wed too close together for me, however, I love that I can switch things up to accommodate life's curve balls. Good fast to all here!
I'm in today, second fast of the week, first one was on Sunday although I usually fast Monday/Thursday.

I had a three-course, pub lunch yesterday then came home and ate half a very large pack of Sensations crisps and then lots of boiled sweets and then biscuits!I have no idea what happened to me as it's quite unusual nowadays for me to eat like that!

However, that was yesterday, and today I am back in fasting mode with no problem at all. Black tea only for me until evening meal tonight. My husband who usually fasts with me had eaten a ham sandwich before I came home at lunchtime, so he won't be getting much for dinner this evening! :frown:

Good luck to all fasting today! :clover: Onwards and downwards!
