Fast 2 for the week!

I might finally be experiencing some of the positive effects of the diet finally. Reading through the forum, I have read various positive side effects from fasting including a clarity if mind, a sense of calm/peace, a sense of euphoria making casters look forwards to a fast day.

For myself, in the entire 11 weeks on the diet, fast day is like any other, just less food. About the only shed effect I have experienced up till now has been an increased sense of anxiety or jumpiness during a fast day quite early on. Don't really experience much now.

However today, while walking around, it almost feels like I have a bounce in my step. Or feel lighter on my feet. Not sure how to describe it.

Could this be the positive side effects others report? Or simply sleep deprivation on my part ? :?:
Fast 2 for me too.

I definitely feel euphoric sometimes since starting 5:2 (I've been describing it as ebullient). Very occasionally, though, I get inexplicably sad.
Dude I think it may be a combination of both 5:2 and sleep deprivation :grin:
I'm oddly feeling very similar today , so my thinking is I usually fast Thursdays but might as well switch to a fast day today so first Wednesday fast day for me let see how it goes. :smile:
I'm fasting today as tomorrow is the 4th of July (although my family's major celebration will be on my sister and brother-in-law's berry farm on the Oregon coast). We'll probably go out to eat tomorrow (Yay! No cooking!) so I will give myself a little extra room for celebrating. I may squeeze in an extra fast on Friday? or not. Wow, I love the flexibility of this WOE.

I do feel extra energy and a bit more clarity of mind--need all of that I can get! Happy 4th to all my fellow Yanks. :clover:
Hey dude, I think you might be feeling the positive effects, if you are loosing weight albeit slowly, clothes looser, feeling you can wrest some control from food controlling you and if you feel good about your efforts and have a bounce in your step whoopee :)
Thanks for the responses. Let's chalk my bounce to a combination of
- a fast day
- less weight being lugged around as I walk
- as well as some confidence gained with actual continual weight loss :) can't complain with 8kg in 10 weeks. Would probably be more but I had two delinquent weeks with parties and collaborations.
- as well as a healthy dose of sleep deprivation :)
I'm here. Still got my cold but soldiering on!
I feel like I'm struggling a bit this week, and I think I've realized why. I do 4:3 so inevitably have 6 days (3 fasts) of ADF each week. But these two weeks, because of the way I've shifted fast days around, I'm getting 10 days of ADF! Today is the 4th fast. I can hardly wait for my weekend of two days off!
I'm in as well for the second fast of this week. Will have another one on Friday. next weeks Friday i'm leaving for a 3 week vacation so hopefully i will have a lost a few more pounds by then. Will try to do 5:2 while on vacation and if i cant manage that will opt for 16:8 during those three weeks.
I'm in for a semi-fast today, liquid only till I go out to an event at local restaurant tonight. Usual week has been messed up a bit, so this is my compromise.

I ate well, didn't overdo it yesterday, so hoping today is easy.
Hi I wonder if you could help me with a couple of queries-I am new to the 5:2 diet and please excuse my ignorance . Does it matter if I exceed the allotted 600 calories on a fast day by a small margin ( 100 calories or possibly 200 calories ) ? Is it advisable to split the 600 calories into 3 (possibly 4 ) meals on a fast day rather than 2 meals as suggested- I would find this type of fasting easier . Thanks for your help

Im in too. Today is second fast out of three for me this week. My first week of 4.3. Doing well I believe.
I'm in. Monday's fast turned into a fast all day and then a normal meal in the evening so hopefully today will go more to plan!

My second fast of the week then weekend starts tomorrow!
