Hi all

Today was supposed to be a fast day but I have abandoned ship. I slept really poorly last night as it was so hot and I woke up this morning just feeling dreadful. After a lovely almond milk iced coffee I went out for a meeting but still felt very zoned out on the way in so instead of having a saintly peppermint tea, I decided to cancel the fast and have a pot of tea and a freshly made, still-warm jam & cream scone (our meeting was in a café). Instantly I felt better!

I know that here in the UK it's not even close to the temperatures you lot in America are getting (today's cooler but we've been around 28-30C, don't do farenheit) but for me that's too hot and with the lack of sleep (we don't do aircon either) I have been feeling not very good. Have eaten at weird times - yesterday I took a feta salad to work and couldn't face eating it (just eaten it now), and had a few oatcakes then some watermelon when I got home. Then had a nice healthy dinner at a friend's house but got so hungry last night I ended up with peanut butter on toast and almond milk at 1am.

Busy with work the next couple of days and still feeling really drained so am going to fast next week when it's a bit quieter. This is the first week when I haven't fasted two days, but I don't mind. I know that at the moment it's not the right thing for me - when it's hot like this sometimes I need to eat, other times I just don't fancy it. I'm probably the only one who is looking forward to cooler weather!

Lori, peanut butter ice cream sounds immense! I know a shop here (M&S) does mini tubs of caramel PB ice cream so may get one tomorrow - especially since I'm now not fasting...
Fasting today too, and yesterday. But I'm feeling kinda strange and faint. Not long till I will have my main meal, ham 'n salad .Maybe two consecutive days are not ideal as last week I succumbed to lots of buttered toast with jam mid afternoon on the second day.Felt that I couldn't continue.I guess I must have a gap inbetween fasting days.Any one else feeling the same ?
Made it till lunch but this was the longest morning ever. Feel better now and pleased with myself for sticking it out.

This is my last fast for a little while  , we are doing up our kitchen starting tomorrow and since I won't have a cooker or space to make anything it'll be fast food all the way until it's all back together. We are painting, tiling and putting on a new worktop with sink etc. :frown:

Hope to be back fasting Monday 22nd. :clover:
I'm in as well. I've found this thread so a bit late to the party.
I'm not stuggling so far, 3pm for me. But I have made my first pot of homemade mint tea, with mint out of the garden. That cold, with sweetener and ice cubes bouncing around the glass is making me feel as if I'm on holiday. I had a bad day yesterday with extreme water retention (I had to have loads of painkillers which didn't help) and still have some now, so I'm hoping the fast will drain that out of me.
I may even make this just a liquid fast today as I really don't feel like eating in this heat. Whatever I do have its going to end up being a very low cal day today.
Silvadarlen you are very brave doing two days in a row. In this heat it takes all my stubbornness to complete one day and not go over my calories. Had a couple of ice lollies on Monday and will probably have one tonight as well.

I could not do two days in a row and it's sounds like it's hard for you as well.
Second fast of the week. I am hoping for 36hr liquid fast. I have tried many times before but cave in at 6pm for the 500cals. Would like to increase weight loss by doing two 36 liquid instead of 4:3. It sounds so much easier than it actually is though. Now that birthdays and holidays are done with for at least a month I really want to have two rock solid liquid fasts a week. Fingers crossed.
I'm fasting today too. This is fast #4 for me after starting the diet at the beginning of the month. Feeling hungry right now so I jumped on to the board for inspiration :)

Also planning to attend my weekly running club outing tonight for a short run. I'm still getting back into running after being injured so short is all I do. But it'll be my first time combining fasting and exercise. Wish me luck.
I'm in. Good luck all!
I've just started in the beg. of the month as well and it does get easier! I spread the 500cals throughout the day and was a bit hungry at 530pm when I got home. However it was a bit too early to eat dinner so I managed until 19:30! And when I had dinner I was not that hungry!... this is great! Throughout the day I felt a bit hungry but no hunger pangs whatsoever! Loving it so far. It feels like my body is adapting really well.
I'm in too! I'm in Colorado so it's only one pm here. I just bought my first box of miso soup and am planning on trying it for the first time today! Excited. Already hungry tho! And it seems like a lot of people on here over ate yesterday and so did I! I don't know why and I ate healthy or relativly healthy stuff but a lot of it!! Just couldn't stop so this fast is well needed!
Caz, if you don't shake it up occasionally, you and your body will get stuck in a rut. It was only one day, in a change to a healthier way of life, it may make your goal 1 week later, but what is one week? Nothing. Don't feel guilty, its one of the things we have started this diet for, the lack of guilt. The first thing I grabbed when I had blown a days eating on other diets was chocolates and biscuits, compounding the problem. Now, on the 5:2 there isn't any guilt, so there is no need to grab the chocolates in comfort eaating mode.
I'm at the end of my fast and heading for a fairly early nights sleep. I don't actually fancy anything in particular for breaking my fast, I will what happens and when. Goodnight all.
Im in. Well nearly over now I guess! The weight loss has slowed dramatically (to the point where it stopped entirely for over a month) so in addition to fasting I am also making an effort to get my steps up by walking instead of reading during lunch. Whilst I feel psychologically better for getting my steps up I am not sure that walking during a heatwave and then spending all afternoon in an un air conditioned office has been my best idea...headache central! Oh well, if it shifts another lb I'll be happy :) now to watch the apprentice before bed :)

Get a halogen oven and set a table up in the living room. They're cheap and really good at cooking things quickly, economically and they are easy to keep clean.

I was without a kitchen for 6 weeks once, you can still prep food, it's just more interesting!
I'm in today too. My 7th fast, things were going great then hubby comes home from a meeting at 10.30pm with fish and chips tucked under his arm, the asks me to put it on a plate for him, cruel! then moans he's got too many chips, does anybody want some. I succumbed to 6 of them :frown: . Saboteur!!!
