New today!

Hi everyone :)

Decided this morning to give this a go.....started dieting at the beginning of January and have lost 6lb using Fitness Pal. Walking at least 30 mins a day on my treadmill, but would like a slightly quicker weightloss if possible. Am planning to fast on Monday's and Wednesday's so today is Fast Day 1......am feeling okay, had scrambled eggs for breakfast and plan to have grilled fish fillet and veggies for supper. Need to do lots of reading of the forum, but my first question is should there be so many hours gap between my two meals?

Quick answer: Yes, the longer the better! In fact, many people find that saving all their calories for one meal is the easiest. The reason being that as soon as you start eating it triggers the hunger switch making you hungrier rather than fulfilled unless you eat a proper meal. As there are not many calories to play with, fewer meals make larger portions! Dr M tries to have 12 hours between eating the night before the fast day and his breakfast, then 12 hours between breakfast and supper, then 12 hours between supper and next day's breakfast. However, whatever works for you is best as you will be more likely to keep it up.
