Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Would this be an issue do you think? I seem to be coping on just water, well atleast I did today anyhoodly do.
That's what a lot of us on the forum do -- just have 500 calories as the evening meal.

On Wednesday, I couldn't even finish my 500 calories (Dont' worry, I made up for it on Thursday! LOL).

Welcome to the forums :-)
Hi, thanks for your response :) especially at this time of night! I really should get some sleep. Seems more fun having all your 500 at once I feel :p
Oh I'm in the US - so I'm usually on the late shift ;-)
Im also one who also prefers to save all my calories and have them in one larger meal in the evening. I think it helps me sleep better too, having a happy full belly!
Plus if i start eating during the during the day it makes me want to keep eating, and i just find it easier to go completely cold turkey and not have anything at all.
Totally agree with you on all points shrinkingrose.

Have a look at our poll on how people use their calories...you'll see that a large proportion go for the one meal option! viewtopic.php?f=7&t=588
@Shrinkingrose - That is exactly the same as me, as I soon as I begin eating for the day then I won't stop! I know some people moan and say we have got to eat breakfast to kick start our metabolism but sometimes I am not hungry till lunchtime anyway, only even started eating breakfast because of Slimming World!

@Carorees - Thank you for the link, I will have a gander :)
Can I do my fasting days on a Monday then a Tuesday or do I need to have a gap?
we are starting with the "one meal" idea tomorrow- so far have had 500cals spread over breakfast and dinner but found the hairy bikers diet book and their dinners are just so delicious and definately within the 500cals!!
thank you for all your inspiration!! good luck- have a good week all!!- ursula
Spick, you can do two days in a row if you like. Some people find it too hard, others find it no problem.

I find that if I don't fast for several days my appetite creeps up again so I like to spread the fast days out with only 2 or 3 feed days between them.

Whatever works for you is fine!
Monday and thurs are my lo-cal days....no b'fast but a cuppa soup or hot choc drink for lunch, and the remaining 450 for dinner with the kids
it worked really well- we had just hot drinks all day till 7pm- by which time we had fasted for 24 hours- then had a lovely chicken casserole which didnt even use up our 500cals- am really chuffed and will try to do that every fast day!!!- thank you for the inspiration!!- ursula
