Hi everyone, I've finally got myself motivated and am starting tomorrow. I've made a meal plan and my TESCO shop is coming tomorrow. I've even bought some new running shoes

I'm a bit nervous about this massive lifestyle change, I don't want to embarrass myself and be a massive failure. Does anyone have any tips that could help me get through the first few fasting days? I plan to drink loads of water on that day to try and stave off hunger pangs.

Hope the diet is going well for everyone so far :)
Welcome Wesley.. I'm still a newbie myself really - I do my fasts with just one meal a day as I prefer to kick off thinking about food too early in my 36 hours. The only thing I could recommend is don't just stick to cold water... Warm drinks, (with skimmed milk and sweetener if needed) I find are way more satisfying if you have a rumbling tummy. Of course that could just be me, but it worked a treat on my first two fast days. The plan is surprisingly easy to follow... (even if I did stall today as I had zero chores and appointments). Boredom for me is a killer... Will adjust my week now and fast tomorrow and friday instead. Good Luck !
There is a great top tips thread so I won't repeat them here.

I understand you are nervous, but I'm sure you'll be surprised that it is much easier than you expect. If you feel really tempted to eat, just put it off for another 30 mins and see how you feel then...most likely the hunger will have decreased.

Drink plenty, take some paracetamol if you get a headache.

Have a small glass of milk before bed to help you sleep.

I am fasting tomorrow too and there will be a thread for people who are fasting to chat. Just pop along and tell us how you are getting on and to ask any questions.

Good luck!
