All day or 2pm-2pm
19 Feb 2013, 22:01
Hi there,

I've been following the fast diet and am now in my 2nd week. Is going well so far and have lost 3lbs already.
I have done a couple of fast days from 2pm-2pm as suggested in the book. I'm just wondering how many other people have done this and if the the results have been better than when you have fasted for a full day...ie a Monday and then a Thursday?
Many thanks :D

Be interested to see what feedback you get - I've only just started but will probably experiment with this. Only thing which might put me off is that the fasting goes over 2 days rather than all over in 1 day Iykwim?

I'm finding 2-2 fits I'm well with my lifestyle but not sure if it will be as effective.

There is some info in the FAQ and several threads.

The short answer is it depends how you intend to do the 24 hour fasts as to whether they will work. Fasting for one calendar day is simpler and works.

Thanks for the advice. I've had a light breakfast and lunch and then fast from 2pm, having a 300-400 calorie dinner at 7, then 100 cals of fruit around 9 or 10am. Then nothing till 2pm.

It's unlikely that the 24 hour ('1 sleep') version will result in the same kind of weight loss as the '2 sleeps' version, since the calorie deficit s greatly reduced - unless perhaps you have 0 cals in that time. There's a little about it in the FAQ topic at the top of the forums!
